- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 399 reviewsWe chose this hotel to visit Jyvaskyla - Mattilanniemi Parkrun!! Head across the square and you can get to Parkrun Saturday mornings by lakeside walking/cycling path. This is very convenient location for coach / train travellers, just across the bridge over the railway tracks and you're there! Amazing, we loved it as we arrived late from the airport by train, in -12 temperatures. We booked a double with SAUNA (absolute bliss) and next room for teenage kids. This wasn't the cheapest option, but it was truly wonderful. The rooms were clean and stylish, and the sauna room had coffee maker and some complimentary soft drinks in the mini bar. The sauna is easy to use and surprisingly large :D The breakfast was served until 12 noon on a Saturday morning, which was perfect after parkrun!! The breakfast is amazing, with lots of sweet bakes and all the usual savoury options, like Karelia pies, eggs, bacon, sausages, etc, but they also serves some special extras like smoked salmon, and Finnish seasonal delicacies as it was xmas vacation; we enjoyed riisipuuro (rice pudding) and joulutorttu (xmas pastries). Cannot wait to be back soon!Guest review byMinnaUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 457 reviewsThe Apartment was the best i had from all apartments i had on the my journey in Finland. Very cosy, clean, lovinly and modern furnished. Very good location, little walking distance to City, harbor,brigde... Equipment: it had everything, didn't miss a thing. And the host was very very nice. He gave me the best directions, to find the apartment. Totally easy to find. Not like in Helsinki, where i had to geochaching to find apartment. Even after my stay, he helped me with a problems i had with the public parking garage. When i come back to jyväskyla, i will definately and absolutly stay in this apartment😊. 11 from 10 points👍👍👍Guest review byKatjaGermany
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 2,238 reviewsThe location is as central as it can get in Jyväskylä although the hotel was very quiet. The bed was excellent, not super soft as hotel beds usually are. An added bonus was the breakfast including mainly local/ Finnish products.Guest review byTuoviFinland

Young, buzzy city - feels like a real discovery.
Young, buzzy city - feels like a real discovery. Alvar Aalto Museum is good if you are interested in design with lots of his buildings around too and the lake is a lovely walk/ run. Some nearby attractions too, so you need a car to make the most of this area. There’s some building work in the city centre as of autumn 2025 so it will probably be even better from summer 2026.Guest review byNickUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We simply fell in love with the place.
We simply fell in love with the place. We couldn't be closer to the beautiful nature: the lake, the forest. The cottage was very cozy and offered all we needed. The hosts were very nice. We extended our stay for additional night as we found it hard to leave. This was the best way to spend our last days of vacation in beautiful Finland. Thank you!Guest review byIva JavorskaCzech Republic - 10.0

Jyvastyla was a great surprise, we visited the Aalto museum, which was excellent. We walk to the University of Jyvaskyla, very impressive and beautiful. We could walk in to the lecture halls, libraries, class rooms. Many restaurants and cafes. I would go back once more to see the city center and galleries.Guest review byRaquelFinland
