FAQs about hotels in Corsica
From Stunning Mountains to Relaxing Beaches
Beautiful Corsica, a French island in the Mediterranean Sea, boasts charming little towns and grand sandy beaches. The birthplace of Napoleon, it's the most mountainous island in the whole Mediterranean and is called the Island of Beauty for a reason.
West of Italy, Corsica is a special French region with its capital in Ajaccio, the island’s largest city, featuring a quiet harbour and plenty of Napoleon memorabilia. Indeed Corsica seems to be a birthplace of history makers, as the town of Calvi claims to be where the great explorer Christopher Columbus was born.
This is a perfect destination for long-distance walking and a lot of people visit every year to try the famous GR 20, the most difficult Corsican trail that takes 17 days to complete. Make sure you enjoy the sunny beaches, most of which offer snorkelling, windsurfing and kite-surfing opportunities.
The local cuisine is a delicious combination of French and Italian influences with many original dishes which will keep your mouth watering. Try the canistrelli pastries, pork meat delicacies and unique chestnut dishes!
Whether you’re looking for family or 5-star hotels in Corsica, Booking.com has nearly 400 properties, including aparthotels, hotels and apartments on this gem of an island.

A beautiful little town with a lovely marina and bars to sit and watch the world go by. The town is up quite a steep hill but is a nice, compact centre with a lot to see and plenty of shops, bars and restaurants to spend time relaxing and winding down.Guest review bySteveUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city is much more lively than Bastia with a nice art museum a historical museum and several beautiful beaches not far (3 miles) from the city center. Unfortunately, I booked an all day boat trip to Bonifacio which was cancelled due to rough seas. I understand that this is not uncommon so you might consider this when determining your length of stay.Guest review bycarolUnited States - 8.0
The Corsican history is the middle ages.
The Corsican history is the middle ages. And Bastia has plenty on show. The museum is good. The citadel it is located in offers lots of nice restaurants and also a very nice, lovely smelling garden. The churches, in Bastia and in other towns and villages are richly decorated, evidence of great wealth deriving from Corsica's position in the trade routes criss crossing the area.Guest review byHubertUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Bonfacio is lovely.
Bonfacio is lovely. The Old Town is perched on the cliffs and offers superb views across the sea to Sardinia. It is packed with lovely winding streets and little shops and restaurants offered a wide choice of food. Our fav restaurant in Old Town was Chez Julien and near the port, Chez Francis. We didn't have a car but still managed to get around - there's a bus service to Porto Vecchio and you can take the ferry to Sardinia, it only takes an hour. There are plenty of boat trips from companies dotted around the harbour. We were there off season, there are more bus routes available during the main summer season. We still really enjoyed our time there though.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A lovely small town with a nice vibe and plenty of options to get out on the water and explore the coast. The town is great but also easy to get up into the hills for fabulous walks with wild goats and amazing views. A lovely combination of beach/sea and mountain/ forests. We'll be back next year!Guest review byJulietteUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely old town, with lots of quaint streets with restaurants, bars and shops. The town beach was lovely but Bodri Beach, 3km away, is beautiful. The walk from L'ille Rouse to Bodri was VERY hard to find, but it can be done!Guest review byCaroline - 6.0

Corte is a good place to do some hiking as the mountains and hills are stunning. We found the people in Corte were not as friendly as other places in Corsica we visited- which does make a differnce! Personally I would skip Corte and stay longer somewhere else (Porto or Calvi were exceptional)Guest review byDarrenUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Saint Florent is a charming little town about 45 mins from Losari. Unfortunately it’s packed with bars and cafes which serve a purpose but like a lot of places in Corsica mean that there’s little or no space for anything else- just feels like it lacks a bit of culture. Again like most places in Corsica any dish will cost you the standard 20 euros and I was amazed (as with other places in Corsica) how sparse the fish options are on menus- I’d expected it to have been a seafood paradise. So saint florent is ok for the day but given the awful beach (brown water and ridiculous winds) unless you like sipping overpriced cocktails and staring at the super rich on their yachts (who by the way are also getting their kicks from sitting back in luxury and staring at you) there’s not a great deal to do!Guest review byNickUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Our stay in Lucciana was chosen for the closeness to the airport. It was very convenient, and made our 7:30 a.m. departure stress- free. We spent our time near Cervione and Felce to visit relatives and explore the birthplace of grandparents and great-grandparents. Corsica is absolutely beautiful. I visited last as a teenager with my mother in 1962. It's even far more beautiful than I remembered it to be.Guest review byLindaUnited States
