- From £343.08 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 809 reviewsI booked this hotel for a rest with my daughter during the holidays. It is a beautiful hotel with a long history. It was founded in 1909 and has retained its identity, imbued with the entire history of France, from royalty to the present day. The room is typically French small, but has all the facilities for a stay including a very comfortable bed. We ordered breakfast in the room and they brought us very fresh and delicious pastries, starting with fresh baguettes in various types, croissants, and other famous French buns. Even if we had no desire to eat, it was impossible not to be tempted. :)) We had dinner at the restaurant and also celebrated my birthday. The cuisine exceeded my expectations, with very refined and beautifully presented dishes. And most importantly - it was delicious! Thank you very much to the chef! Used the sauna as well, it was mostly very quiet and we were able to relax. In front of the hotel is Grand beach, a lovely bay, and a shore for swimming and relaxing.Guest review bySevdaAzerbaijan
- From £171.54 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 862 reviewsThe room had a huge window that made it bright and gave an excellent view of the beach to the north (although there were obviously rooms with even better views of the sea). Good-size balcony. Great breakfast. Very nice bar with a good selection of beer. Very close to the beach, of course, but also several restaurants and bars.Guest review byDavidSwitzerland

The hotel is right next to the beach, with a number of restaurants. The staff members are very friendly. They have helped us call a taxi to go back to town the day of checkout--an effort that we have really appreciated.Guest review byananasrizFrance

Biarritz is an absolute treasure of a place to visit.
Biarritz is an absolute treasure of a place to visit. It has so much on offer and if you like surfing, there are multiple places to hire boards and wetsuits as well as a large number of surf schools. We LOVED the swimming beach too and the aquarium. There are many food options for different budgets. As the weather was so nice, we got take away food most evenings and sat on the beach, watching the sun set. There are many restaurants and the brunch scene is big with lots of pretty places to choose from, I highly recommend Les Halles covered market and the little train to get a feel for where everything is. Everyone was so friendly and helpful and we are already planning our return trip!Guest review byJoannaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bayone is a very historic city in the French side of the Basque Country. The old town is charming with plenty of chocolate shops. Saturday all the shops are open but Sunday the town is shut down so plan accordingly. We visited the Basque museum on Sunday - well worth a visit.Guest review byCristinaUnited States - 10.0
Loved the dunes.
Loved the dunes. Very difficult to park but our holiday was in peak season so understandable. Quality of food not great and expensive. The best meal we had was at the dunes and that was the cheapest too. Lots to do for everyone but next time we would go out of high seasonGuest review byROYFrance - 10.0

Saint-Jean-de-Luz is a very pleasant little town on the South-west coast of France. Its beach is nicely sheltered from the wild Bay of Biscay, making it safe and attractive. We stayed in a central hotel with easy access to some lovely bars and restaurants serving delicious local cuisine. It's an easy drive into the countryside; we climbed a mountain called Larrun, part of the Pyrenees, then easily back to St Jean de Luz for a swim and out for dinner! Also some good local shops.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom - 10.0
We know the area and were primarily there to visit a friend.
We know the area and were primarily there to visit a friend. We were on a budget so had to use public transport, which turned out to be super easy to use. You can pay with cash or bank card directly on the bus (you can only buy one ticket with a bank card, however) or you can buy a loaded card with ten tickets (which you can use for more than one person) at machines at train stations, principal stops and tobacconists. Timetables are given at bus stops and are accurate. Make sure you know when the public holidays are, as these affect public transport considerably. The bus journey to Biarritz station is less than half an hour (depending on the route they take) and from there you can travel quickly and inexpensively to St Jean de Luz, Bayonne and elsewhere. The three towns I have mentioned are so close by, yet so contrasting and are all worth a visit. The number 36 bus (a little further away from the apartment - maybe 8-10 mins walk) give you access to beaches up the coast, like La Madrague. I used Google Maps a lot and found its advise re: public transport super helpful. My teenage girls loved the frothy hot chocolate at Chez Cazenave in Bayonne, https://www.chocolats-bayonne-cazenave.fr/4-nos-chocolats. On our last night, we ate at Casa Juan Pedro, http://casajuanpedro.com/en/home, in Biarrtiz's old port. They were welcoming, and the food was delicious and simply presented (our party includes seafood enthusiasts and picky eaters).Guest review byLauraUnited Kingdom - 8.0

The old fishing area north of the centre ville, was very interesting. La Pestacle was an excellent choice for lunch. Large LeClerq supermarket situated in a very smart indoor complex of big brands/ names, was very close to the hotel and met our every need.Guest review byDawnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Relaxed, friendly town.
Relaxed, friendly town. The main town is separate from the area with the beach - about a 20min walk along a pleasant waterside walk/cycle way. Both areas are worth a visit. The main town has a nice square with some lovely cafes/small restaurants and the beach area is a little more touristy but also has good places to eat overlooking the sea. We happened to be in town for a fortnightly Friday night community supper in the port so enjoyed freshly grilled sardines, bread, cheese, basque tart and a glass of wine for €13Guest review byEleonoreUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We drove to Biarritz and is very complicated during the summer as many central roads are pedestrianised and you are forbidden to drive down. There are many central car parks. Highly recommend visiting the sea front. Restaurants were very good and the Food Hall market is the place to go for breakfast and shopping.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom
