The house was clean and looks exactly as from the picture, if not better. Additionally, the owners are incredible persons. We arrived super late and they were there waiting for us, even if we could not let them know because we did not have connection. And finally, they saved our trip. We had a problem with the car, we spent all day trying to fix it but no one looks wanted to help us (even the insurance wanted to fix it in 3 days for a tyre replacement). We struggle so much without knowing French. But they just came to us and stayed with us helping, talking to insurance for us and at the end, finding a place to get the tyre and replace it. I love this village, very well situated between Pic du Midi,...
I love this village, very well situated between Pic du Midi, Gavarnie, and Pont d'Espagne directions. It has everything you need as a tourist: supermarkets and specialty stores (wine, cheese, etc), restaurants, a small market, a tourist office, parks, and several walking trails around the valley (ask for a map in the tourist office), a spa center... The Templar fortified church: amazing, though nothing to do with the Templars. The little castle up the hill. A scramble, but a great view. Closest town to utterly spectacular Cirque du Gavarnie; close enough to gorgeous Pont d'Espagne (drive round to Cauterets for access). Cheerful pizza Ariane.
