The staff was awesome. The dinner was terrific. And the morning baguette with confiture was the best in the world. And the morning view was amazing. Forget Nizza, go to Beuil. Try Gorges de Cian and Col de Cuyolle.

This is a lovely hotel in a village of 200 people in the Alps. The owner, Robert, was very kind and drove me to and from the train station to the hotel as I didn't realize there were no taxis. The restaurant's food was excellent, and I would have loved to have stayed for breakfast but I had to catch an early train. I would like to come up from Nice and stay again in the summer in order to do some hiking.

Pretty little Villa centrally located in Barcelonnette. The rooms very really beautifully renovated and the open glass shower in the room was amazing! They offered breakfast on lovely small tables in the garden. The staff and the Charme of the place were amazing! Also it is only 3 walking minutes away from the center and the pedestrian zone! There is a free open parking lot next to the hotel (we luckily got the last free space there)

Superb place. Family friendly with an amazing owner that was very helpful. Place like on the pictures, with huge common area for guests , with games if you want to chill in the evening. Located right by the side of the lift, 5 mins walking from a small lake. Very clean rooms with comfy beds. I was very happy there with my daughter as we had dream stay there. The location is very good, however the apartment is very dated, some of the appliances do not work and the bath has no shower screen or curtain, I have stayed in Isola over the last 10 years and this was the worst I have stayed in, it is also very expensive but because of demand and location you have to pay the price. I feel that asking for an extra cleaning charge when you are paying 250 euros per night is just ridiculous. The bedding and towel charge is ok as all the apartments in Isola do this but I still think this is simply grabbing a bit more and made me dislike the approach from the owners , we brought our own in the end. At the end of the day, if you want to stay in the main part of Isola , this is what you have to put up with. The skiing was great !

Valdeblore is a very nice little town, there is a beautiful church and ancient houses. I love the food from the boulangerie Terroir. I'd have liked to have more time to do some trekking in the beautiful mountains. I didn't use it, but I know that you can get around by bus. You can go to Nizza by bus in about 1 hour and a half

Great base for a hiking or skiing focused trip. Very quiet town, but there's a lively market on Saturdays. Plenty of restaurant options every night, including week nights. Bakeries and grocery store for hiking provisions. We didn't explore public transit or taxi options up to Mercantour park entrance because we had a rental car. Some trails leave from the center of town. There's also a very impressive indoor climbing center with a pool that would be great for families or for rainy-day activities, but we didn't have time to visit. You can walk to the hillside town of

Beautiful mountains and trails to lakes and waterfalls. Most restaurants in the area had very rude staff. I speak 3 languages, unfortunately not French and we had a hard time communicating and were treated poorly by host both in person and by phone due to lack of understanding. I have worked in service industry my entire life in multiple countries and I was surprised that for a tourist location host were so rude to people that don't speak French.

The countryside in Valberg is beautiful and the little town is cool but during the time we were there only a portion of the restaurants were open and we only found a couple places with good food. There was lots of construction which made it impossible to relax and enjoy the area but I am sure once the construction is done it will be nice.
