The aquarium, cathedral and old city wall’s walk were all very well worth doing. We enjoyed them all. We also enjoyed wandering through the fish markets. We walked everywhere, which was easy enough. We had very easy access to lots of good options of places to eat, from where we were, with many right on our doorstep.Guest review byTamsynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Le Touqet was lovely for a short visit unless you have children who can use the superb beach. Lots of lovely restaurants and would particularly recommend a seafood one called Perard. The town is very easy to get around even for old folk like my wife and I who are both in our late seventies.Guest review byDawnUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Berck is the French equivalent of Great Yarmouth, a great big beach, stuff to do and loads of beachfront flip flop shops. Le Touquet down the road is much posher but Berk was friendly and very welcoming to families.Guest review byAnonymousUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely, historic buildings around the Grand Square and beyond. Good choice of bars and restaurants. Third visit to Arras and we explored the river and canal, a little further from the town centre. Found a new summer outdoor bar by the canal.Guest review byAnthonyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We have visited Wissant many times before for days out and decided to stay in Hotel Normandy for this trip. The hotel is friendly and traditionally French which we liked, we ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel and especially enjoyed the set menu at dinner. The hotel is just a short walk to the beach and convenient for nearby bars and restaurants, it has an outside bar and terrace. Market day is Thursday in Wissant and is worth a look. Wissant is not a traditional destination for British tourists, but it’s one of our favourite places as it’s less commerciallised than many more towns along the Opal Coast.Guest review byKarenUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Nice stop over, 40 mins from Calais, en route for the south.
Nice stop over, 40 mins from Calais, en route for the south. We arrived on a late Sunday afternoon in August. It was easy to get to and small and quiet enough to get a taste of French life without feeling we'd missed too much. We wandered the streets, admiring the architecture, visited the museum as it was closing, stopped for a drink in a bar and shopped for basic ingredients at a local store. It felt safe. Perfect for a stop over. After leaving Saint Omer we drove south and stopped in Nemours for lunch, picking up picnic items from the supermarket and parking up in a big carpark on a very attractive part of the river. Would recommend as an alterrnative to the services.Guest review byRachaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We visited for the World Cyclocross racing, so wasn't there to explore Lens itself. However we found a variety of bars and restaurants that were reasonably priced. We'd have visited Rhe Louvre, but it was closed on the day we could have gone (Friday). Great transport to Lille via train.Guest review byVickyUnited Kingdom
