Loved it here!
Loved it here! Friendly people, great weather, lots to explore, and great shopping options. Older city so beware there’s lots of narrow streets, steps and rocky beaches but it just added to the city’s charm in my opinion.Guest review byShaynaUnited States - 8.0

Swamped with tourists at high season, but avoiding the most popular attractions makes for a more pleasant stay unless you enjoy queueing up. Many unique experiences to be had.Great public transport system.Guest review byThomson - 8.0
Mostly disappointed with pollution!
Mostly disappointed with pollution! Smoking is allowed everywhere. Worst ever on all my trips! Beaches are pretty dirty! And the seawater is very dirty. I did not expect this! Very disappointing this time. I'll never go back. There are many prettier places for a real vacation and rest!Guest review byTatjanaCanada - 8.0
We visited in July during the French Theater festival.
We visited in July during the French Theater festival. It was a little too busy for our liking, but if you like French theater, it's a great time to be there. We took a tour of the Pope's palace, which is amazing and well worth visiting. We also did a half day tour of the lavender fields, which are about an hour away. Probably a full day tour would have been better. Good walking city overall.Guest review byCharlesUnited States - 10.0

A large historic city centre with hundreds of small individual shops and restaurants. The squares are a wonderful place to eat at night and you should not miss the food markets on a Saturday. Very helpful and pleasant staff in the shops and restaurants and a very beautiful city. Access is easy by train from Marsallie or other towns in the south France; you don't need a car. Best to eat away from the main street as it's netter value and the food in thr local bakeries is amazing. I'd especially recommend Boulangerie Hats Aix Espiariat for breakfast and lunchGuest review byJeffUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Arles is a very interesting town for lovers of Van Gogh and also antiquities. All the places visited were interesting. Perhaps the Fondation Van Gogh isn’t worth visiting. There are only 2 paintings by Van Gogh and not much information. It is quite pretentious. The garden of the hospital is lovely. We also visited the sanatorium in Saint-Remy which is very sympathetically restored snd full of beautiful things snd a lot of information.Guest review byHeatherUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Antibes is a lovely town with a lot to explore.
Antibes is a lovely town with a lot to explore. The small narrow streets in the old town are wonderful and you never know what’s around the next corner. There are so many squares with good food at them all. A little knowledge of French would make thing’s easier but by no means necessary.Guest review byJohnIreland - 10.0
Menton is beautiful.
Menton is beautiful. A perfect stop along a fab coastline of towns and villages both in France and over the border in Italy. The town itself is buzzing with cafes, shops and restaurants. The old world charm of the town remains and it isn't over- commercialised. Beaches are lovely, with warm, clear water, mind the stony sand though. The area felt unspolit. An ideal spot to base yourself to travel around the regions, close to Nice airport, Cannes, Antibes, Monaco and Italy. Public transport was fine, trains and Ubers, local buses were infrequent. We loved The New Bar on the pier, a basic pub with music and friendly staff. Menton is hilly, especially around Menton Garavan (port area) so avoid if you've mobility issues or young children, better to locate in the town itself. Recommend a sunrise swim, beautiful to see the sun rise and reach the Basicilica St Michael, a must visit tourist site.Guest review bymaeveIreland - 4.0
We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place.
We Didn’t like Toulon. Large, busy place. The main town wasn’t nice and not somewhere I would want to walk around. Beaches were very average - dusty shingle rather than sand. I wouldn’t return or recommend. We included the visit in a stopover.Guest review bySarahUnited Kingdom - 2.0
The Horus Hotel screwed us all.
The Horus Hotel screwed us all. We paid via booking.com but the Hotel denied any record and said they didn't have enough rooms for our party, yet they accepted other un-booked guests. Three of us had to share 1 room. We then had to pay again! Sort it out booking.com as so far you have entirely failed to respond!Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom
