Lovely clean city can walk everywhere.
Lovely clean city can walk everywhere. Not much to see after 3 days at most unless you're filming a medieval period film or have to work or study. I say take a a late night walk through the city with the open empty pedestrian streets and no humans around. Quite impressive. But nah..not much else. Good afternoon stopover. Furthermore Dijon needs to let go of their co-dependent relationship with mustard. The seeds are no longer grown there. :) They are imported.Guest review byLaurieFrance - 6.0
Breakfast was good, as we're the morning staff.
Breakfast was good, as we're the morning staff. When I asked for a map of Beaune on arrival, I was directed to a rack of tourist leaflets, none of which were helpful!. The following morning when I asked for a map of Beaune, I was given one immediately by a very pleasant receptionist. I could not get an Internet connection in my room. There was no socket for the kettle, had to use the socket in the middle of the bed.Guest review byRogerUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Loved that the breakfast was buffet as I had a hungry toddler with me. The fact that you can choose when to have your room cleaned was superb. Supermarket and bus stop few minutes away which was so convenient. How they have a 24hr machine to check you in even at 3am (my flight was delayed had no issues getting into my room) which was a big bonus!👍🏾Guest review byAwaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stop in Nuits St Georges on drives from UK to South of France. Its perfectly mid way, great location from the motorway and has plenty to offer. The town center has been updated since our last trip and the mix of traditional architecture and modern stone and fountains in the center of town work well together. There are a number of bars and we sat at a really great bar with a fabulous vibe drinking great draught beer and people watching. After the long drive from Calais to Nuits St George we decided to skip a restaurant and hit the local Carrefour supermarket for wine and picnic items, but, in the past we've eaten at local restaurants and there are plenty to chose from. Great place to stop, relax and rewind for the onward journey.Guest review byTina & DellFrance - 8.0

I was en route between the south of France and the UK and Dijon was a convenient stop over. I found the hotel on the Booking.com website and it fitted my needs for a room and a meal after a long drive. It is a few kilometres from the centre of Dijon but on a main road to the city. The staff at reception and the restaurant made me feel welcome and the room was clean and well presented as were the public areas. I had a quiet and comfortable night's sleep in spite of it being at the time of the July heatwave. The facility was as described, it is not fancy but was more than adequate for my purposes.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Mersault was a cosy and charming little village in the heart of Bourgogne wine area. You can taste wines in numerous wine shops and domaines. We had dinner in an excellent restaurant Au Fil du Clos. We overnighted in a very charming privet-owned hotel/B&B Charles V.Guest review byRiikkaFinland - 10.0

A lovely little village, with bars for drinks and snacks and a restaurant. Great cave with a very knowledgeable man (and lots of stuffed animals in the cellars, which was a bit weird but interesting). There was also a very good wine shop, again with a very knowledgeable man, who knew about all the different wines he sold. The tourist information office is great, the staff were incredibly friendly and spoke very good English. They also had some lovely gifts. Lovely to wander around, very quiet and tranquil (and obviously home to some incredible wines!)Guest review bySerenaUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Beautiful hotel and setting, in a delightful area, however be minded of the weather when you book. Our bedroom could most certainly be described as compact, and there was no air conditioning, so not ideal for early August.Guest review byDonnaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This was our third visit to Dijon as our daughter is studying there. So many places to eat and drink. Some fantastic finds and we are always finding new ones. Le Jacquemart is a great place for a drink or to eat. Steak and chips and a bottle of wine there is a must do ! The Blue Dog is in a lively square and is another place for a good drink and easy food. There are so many other gems we have discovered and the list is always growing. Dijon is also so easy to navigate if you stay in the centre, if you like to wander around and check out shops as well as bars and restaurants, its perfect.Guest review byGaryFrance - 10.0

It's a beautiful town with lots to see, including the mediaeval ramparts that were added to (cheaply!) in the 17th century. The Fine Arts Museum was worth a visit and there was an extensive and well-priced Saturday market. Wine obviously figures highly, and there are lots of decent restaurants with extensive wine lists. My view is that the price and quality of the carafe wines is a good indication of the quality of the restaurant but this breaks down in Beaune where the carafe wines are not the simple pleasure that they should be.Guest review byJulian ElphickUnited Kingdom
