Staying in the middle of the historic area is very beautiful. But I find the restaurant around the area in general is disappointing. Trying too hard with fancy exotic flavors. Otherwise it is a lovely town. Just the right size. Very nice people.Guest review byTasanaThailand - 10.0

From the moment I arrived in Biarritz, I felt the mix of glamour and surf energy that makes this city so special. On my first day I strolled the coastline from the Grande Plage, passing striped tents, crashing waves, and the little fishermen’s port. The walk ended at the Rocher de la Vierge, where the view over the bay literally took my breath away. The next day I tried something I’d always wanted to do: surf lessons at Ilbarritz Beach. The spot is gorgeous, tucked between cliffs, and even as a beginner I managed to catch a few waves. It was pure joy. Evenings were magical—dinners on rooftops with ocean views, watching the sun sink into the Atlantic while enjoying seafood and a glass of wine. But the sweetest surprise came at Les Halles Market, where I tried Gâteau Basque for the first time. I had no idea what it was before, but I fell in love with it on the spot. The stand owner has been making them since 1969, and you can taste the tradition in every bite. I also picked up some incredible local honey to bring home. Biarritz gave me a little bit of everything: stunning walks, iconic sights, a taste of adventure, and unforgettable food. I left with sand in my hair, a smile on my face, and a promise to myself to come back.Guest review byTimothyFrance - 6.0

For my situation, I needed car park and pets allowed, I wanted to go to the ocean which I did one day and it was amazing - I was too hot and tired to go another day due to no AC in room, outside temp 34 degrees. The area was nice, but I prefer countryside , for my requirements and budget there were no hotels in the countryside for the dates I needed - it all depends on peoples' individual circumstances, for some it is just one night stop over for the airport , I had several requirements , and would have liked another day at the sea. The immediate grounds of the hotel were nice with trees and grass area I could take my dog there first thing in morning and at night.Guest review bybeverleyUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bayone is a very historic city in the French side of the Basque Country. The old town is charming with plenty of chocolate shops. Saturday all the shops are open but Sunday the town is shut down so plan accordingly. We visited the Basque museum on Sunday - well worth a visit.Guest review byCristinaUnited States - 10.0

Unfortunately, I was only here for a weekend trip, and I didn't have time to visit many of the local sights. A lovely area, especially if you like hiking. Biarritz is a 90 minute drive away and, of course, the Pyrenees are only a few hours drive away, too.Guest review byJitinderUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Loved the dunes.
Loved the dunes. Very difficult to park but our holiday was in peak season so understandable. Quality of food not great and expensive. The best meal we had was at the dunes and that was the cheapest too. Lots to do for everyone but next time we would go out of high seasonGuest review byROYFrance - 10.0
2 nights is plenty. Architecture is not to be missed.
2 nights is plenty. Architecture is not to be missed. Crowds on market day are crazy unless you go to first thing in morning. The €5 panoramic glass lift is worth it. If you’re vegetarian or like plenty of salad/ vegetables you will struggle with all the restaurant menus foie gras and duck feature heavily.Guest review byIslayUnited Kingdom - 6.0

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable. The breakfast was disappointing and too expensive for what it was. Good place to stay if you have an early morning flight out of Toulouse.Guest review byAnneCanada
