We had an exceptional stay here. Lovely house, lovely environment (calm, great view) and lovely hosts who clearly pay attention to detail. Homemade and local products (free of charge) were delicious. We will definitely come back when in Alsace!

Modern, self contained and very comfortable accommodation that exceeded our expectations. Well equipped kitchenette, modern bathroom and comfortable bed. Everything felt high quality. Really nice and peaceful location, lovely garden (with the right weather!) Just 30 minutes drive to Basel airport, good restaurants not too far away. Thoughtful, friendly and welcoming hosts.

    A wonderfully peaceful location way off the beaten track. Rooms were simple but comfortable, clean and with modern bathrooms. Many rooms have balconies and the upper floors have lovely distant countryside views. The breakfast was a comprehensive buffet with cooked options - certainly fulfilled our needs. The restaurant is outstanding. We had a wonderful meal of traditional French regional cooking - lots of seasonal dishes including wild boar and plum tart. Atmosphere was great, this restaurant is very popular locally so I would imagine essential to book dinner when you make your reservation.

    The hosts are so friendly and kind. Location is perfect in a quiet village, a pool and really good cooking facilitates. We visited many local areas and towns, cycled in the local hills and along the canal. We also walked to shops and the local bakery recommended by our hosts. There is a portfolio of local tourist information and our host gave us advice about parking and local events on (cycling whilst we visited). We enjoyed meeting their, and their neighbours pets too, large garden and kids play area.

    The team of staff were BRILLIANT throughout our stay, from front of desk to restaurant to House hold staff thanks to all. We asked if we could change our room to one with a balcony and it was done. Food was excellent both evening meal and breakfast and the staff were so professional. Our room was well presented and very comfortable. A real gem of a property.

    We were there for hiking in the area and there were trails! The quality of the restaurant was a bonus. But note advance reservations are necessary. They squeezed in our table for two on a Friday night with only notice that morning but I wouldn't count on it again.

    Ferrette is a pretty small town, but absolutely beautifully...

    Ferrette is a pretty small town, but absolutely beautifully located in the foothills of the Alsacian Jura, near the border with Switzerland. The area is not very touristic, but if you are looking for a perfect landscape for hiking, especially in late summer/early autumn, this is the region you have been looking for. One of the culinary specialties of the Sundgau, which is the southern part of the Alsace, is Carpe Frite, fried carp. Make sure you sample it in one of the restaurants that is part of the 'route du carpe frite'. My personal preference would be a stay at the Hotel Restaurant Collin in Ferrette that also offers other regional specialties at very moderate prices.
