- From £138.30 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.6Exceptional - What previous guests thought, 63 reviewsAmazing place!. Amazing hosts!. Thanks Sarah and Steve for making our trip most memorable! Best place to hideaway. Beautiful views of the country side. Rooms are huge and extremely well decorated. The whole place is! Doesn't feel like a hotel, but a real french country side experience. We will never forget! In our 10 day trip, staying at your home was what we all thought to be the best part. Being in the country side, restaurants etc can be 15-20 min away, but in fact the trip to get there is an experience on itself. p.s. Thanks Steve for the recommendations of what to see in the area!Guest review byfrancisco javierSpain

This town is a gem - the real France and away from the tourist beat. Its cathedral is unique and exceptionally old. A little French is a help here. Very good and inexpensive restaurants. Take the Little tour train for a great orientation.Guest review byTarr-Whelan - 10.0
Where we stayed was a restored castle.
Where we stayed was a restored castle. It was wonderful inside. The staff were very helpful. The part of town we stayed in was quaint and very walkable. I would have loved to stay longer. We ate at a small Crepery that was right around the corner. You have to be there early and make reservations. We did it online and almost didn't get in. The food was good.Guest review byBrendaUnited States - 10.0

Beautiful room and terrace opening on to vineyard, with view across to Saint Cirq la Popie. Perfect 4 day stay spent relaxing by the pool, in the vineyard, or day tripping. Great breakfast on terrace, and superb restaurant 100m down the road. Would go back anytime - can't recommend this place highly enough.Guest review byanthonyAustralia - 10.0

We only needed a few hours in V-s-L which is which is why we chose to stay a short distance outside the town in the pretty countryside rather than in the centre of town. I’m very glad we did, particularly as it was a Sunday and the town was very quiet.Guest review byIslayUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely, peaceful area.
Lovely, peaceful area. Cajarc is a gem of a town with all local needs, great cafes, local market, and walks by the river - water sport area in high season. Local towns such as Figeac, St Circ Lapopie and Conques have beautiful medieval centres and great cafes to explore. Not too far from the larger “tourist area” attractions or Roocmadour ec (c2hrs) but this area more rural French and peaceful.Guest review byJeffUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This was a second visit to Puy-l’Évêque And there will be more as the location of the town is so perfect. Intriguing side streets that you never really feel you’ve got the measure of and each street seems to end with a surprise as a consequence. The only downside is the number of shops that look as if they’ve been empty for a very long time and may never be occupied again. It’s a shame as I can’t imagine that the town isn’t incredibly busy in the summer months and I wonder why they aren’t doing really well!Guest review bySimonUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Cahors is a nice little city.
Cahors is a nice little city. There isn't much spectacular to see or do, but it kept me busy for a day. The medieval bridge is nice, the cathedral was worth a visit, and it's nice to walk next to the river that encircles the city. Keep in mind, on Sundays, nearly everything is closed. Even finding a restaurant for dinner was a struggle. I wonder if the locals even eat on a Sunday...Guest review byPeterBelgium - 10.0

I have stayed in Mercure hotels before and not been impressed but this excelled itself with their outstanding staff performance, incredible garden courtyards, architecture (1188), interiors and lovely small pool. Their location was hard to beat too - right next to the main square. My room was 207 looking into the courtyard garden and fountain. It was actually excellent value when I compare it to other accomm bookings on my trip. If you have a couple of days in Figeac, I would recommend a stay here.Guest review byAndreaAustralia - 6.0

Pros: breath taking beauty, calming nature, lots of great hikes and food. When we were at hotel or just walking around the nature I felt so at peace Cons: as Americans we were made to feel extremely unwelcome in many establishments. I speak a little bit of French, but have a hard time understanding fast speech. We were mocked multiple times when people thought we couldn’t understand them. When we asked for help in various situations we were greeted with hostility or laughed at and ignored. So maybe skip this area if you don’t feel comfortable in your French speaking abilities.Guest review byMollyThailand - 8.0

Happy to discover the town centre, having passed though en route to other places several times. Our visit in December, had highlights like the Christmas market, the delights of the Halle on the river side, and the Saturday morning market. Its clear the the Maire is trying hard, and deserves success. We are more than happy to return in the summer months and enjoy the activities along the river.Guest review byChicken JoFrance
