Nothing to dislike. Applecross Inn served good food .
Nothing to dislike. Applecross Inn served good food . I took the pass road in. Magnificent experience but not for the faint hearted. The coastal road was also magnificent scenery which you could take time to enjoy.Guest review byElizabethUnited Kingdom - 2.0
Room 15 at Tigh an Eilean was the best thing about the hotel...
Room 15 at Tigh an Eilean was the best thing about the hotel, as this room, wth pleasant modern decor, had a large bathroom ! That is the only good thing I can say about this hotel, which seemed to have no management, ie, reception NEVER manned and the restaurant closed in the evening, when one had to use the pub/cafe attached! Restaurant was used in the morning for breakfast, which offered a pathetically limited choice to say the least and food not good either! I stayed at this hotel many years ago and enjoyed it very much, but, alas, this hotel is now in a very sad state and I could NOT recommend it to anyone, regrettably!Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Amazing views, especially on the Applecross pass.
Amazing views, especially on the Applecross pass. Take a drive around the coastal route covering the entire peninsula which has some beautiful places. Take a minute to stop at the view points, get out of your vehicle and walk into the wilderness. Enjoy the breath taking views. Applecross has a few amazing places to stay (like Hartfield House), and to eat (like Applecross Walled Garden).Guest review byShyam ReyalUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Do not go to Shieldaig
Do not go to Shieldaig It is just a load of lochs and mountains There is nothing to do there except stare at them, sail on them or jump in the lochs or walk up the mountains, which are, basically, just big piles of rock that get narrower as they get higher until they disappear altogether and you have to come down You will hate itGuest review bypeterUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely, a dream, it's look like Anne of the green gables...
Lovely, a dream, it's look like Anne of the green gables village. You can move around from an attraction to another by walking on a wooden path with deer on sight. The local community is really active and always ready to organize special activities and services for tourists too. The walled garden restaurant is unique and full of surprises.Guest review byLuciaItaly - 2.0
Not a 4* hotel, or even 2* and very over priced!
Not a 4* hotel, or even 2* and very over priced! The hotel is rather 'tatty' and linen was 'tired'. Dinner had been pre-booked but then cancelled at the last minute without any apology or any alternative suggestions being offered. Things happen, but what matters is how they are managed - Tigh an Elieen didn't even try to manage it (except to offer a packet of crisps). Shieldaig is 10miles from other places to eat and even they are limited in number, so the consequences of 'dinner is cancelled' are significant. Overall, very poor and the only recommendation is - avoid, go elsewhere.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom
