Hotel very clean and all the staff were amazing. Short walk down to the town and lots of things to do and visit in the area. Great selection of independent shops in the town. Lots of different options for places to eat and drink too.Guest review byMoragUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A lovely little village in the Borders area with good eating options and lots of interesting sights in the area including Melrose Abbey, the Eildon Hills, Wallace Monument, Dryburgh Abbey and a great bookshop and cafe in nearby St Boswell. Burt's Inn does a great afternoon tea and an even better dinner. The locals were friendly and helpful as well. It was easy to navigate the area by car.Guest review byEllenAustralia - 10.0
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right .
Kelso is an interesting town in its own right . Plenty of interesting shops , bars , and a square to add to the overall attraction . The Cream Chimneys cafe on the square is first class with interesting innovative dishes and advertises live music on weekend evenings . You would need to make a reservation for this . Nearby Floors Castle is worth a visit , and you can walk along the river which is easy to get to . Kelso would be a good base from which to visit other Border towns . There is plenty of streetside parking .Guest review byjohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history.
Jedburgh is a little gem - it’s steeped in history. It is spotlessly clean - the local people were all very friendly. Two must visits are Mary Queen of Scots home and Jedburgh Castle Jail. We are in Belters Bar - the food was beautiful. The Jedburgh Baguette Co was perfect for lunch - so tasty.Guest review byMoiraUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Hawick Park is fantastic and well worth a visit, as is the museum in the park. The town is a bit run down unfortunately, but there are still a few nice cafes etc. Hawick is well situated to visit other towns etc and also has some good walks in the countryside.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Our day there coincided with shops day off.
Our day there coincided with shops day off. But not many shops there anyway. We watched the cyclists on Tour of Britain cycling through and had a coffee. We returned to the hotel and visited the Bar for refreshment and a chat to both staff and customers. We had a really enjoyable dinner in the dining room, which has lots of Coldstream Guards memorabilia, all of which was interesting.Guest review byGrahamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A really nice town, lovely square and some interesting shops (although many don't open Monday as well as Sunday). Loch Carron Weavers on an industrial estate well worth a visit to see the tartans. Many Abbeys and stately homes, and nice riverside spots, within easy reach, and mountain areas to the west.Guest review byPaul
