Chester is a brilliant city with great shops, great choice of eating places, and pubs. Also a fantastic busking guitarist called Andy Martin. We stopped for 2 days, which actually didn't give us enough time to cover everything we wanted to do. On your way home, Cheshire Oaks is well worth a visit.Guest review byBarryUnited Kingdom - 2.0

This is not an unbiased opinion!
This is not an unbiased opinion! I used to live and work in Crewe, and still make regular visits. It is an excellent base for travel in all directions, and so ideal for touring holidays, especially using train services. But the town has suffered from the delays and partial cancellation of the "High Speed 2" rail line, and changes prompted by the break up of British Rail. Rail House, the 12 storey office block by the station, is now a derelict eyesore although I understand that Cheshire East Council is endeavouring to address this.Guest review byDavidUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The location on King St was very good , plenty of shops and places for refreshment. Stayed 2 nights at the Rose and Crown, visited a few pubs including The Lord Eldon chatted with the locals who all seemed friendly and gave us good advice. We were guests at a friends wedding at the Culshaw estate , a beautiful venue just a couple of miles away (over peover) Local taxi came on time to the venue . Walked around by The Moor ,had an excellent time . Would have liked to stay longer to visit Tatton Park but will return another time.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Macclesfield offered a peaceful and charming atmosphere.
Macclesfield offered a peaceful and charming atmosphere. The hotel environment was excellent — clean, serene, and surrounded by nature. We experienced great comfort throughout our two-day stay. The spa facilities and breakfast were delightful, and the staff at reception were polite and welcoming.Guest review byLungoweUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Out of our 6 weeks holiday traveling around, Wilmslow was the best town we had been in. Loved the shops, the Juniper Cafe was amazing, all our food and our drinks were sooo good. Easy to find our way around and get a carpark. Lovely countryside too.Guest review byKarenNew Zealand - 8.0
Runcorn is beautiful and we came to visit relatives.
Runcorn is beautiful and we came to visit relatives. But our stay at the hotel wasn’t worth it. It was old and needs overall revamping. Reception staff was nice but the room was so tiny with AC not working and bed was so uncomfortable. Wouldn’t stay at this property again.Guest review byviji - 6.0
The staff tried to please .
The staff tried to please . My sister who had travelled from Australia wasn’t allowed to check in early despite the room being available without paying 15.00 Drinks pricey and others put on my account Very noisy and several guests complained overnight with noise till gone 2am The hotel itself is good food fine but limited choice re salads and lighter menu optionsGuest review byjudithUnited Kingdom - 8.0

A delightful small market style town with a great selection of high quality shops - from a Fine Food Farm Shop and fantastic cafe/bakery, through numerous great looking places to eat to a number of smart looking dress and gift shops. It has a lovely friendly feel to it. The Swan Hotel feels very much like a meeting-point for the community, with people dropping in for coffee/tea or the bar or the restaurant. Tarporley is not far from lovely countryside with walks along The Sandstone Trail, particularly Delamare Forest and a super pub called The Pheasant which has a map with local walks.Guest review byElaineUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The venue is amazing.
The venue is amazing. The glass venue at the front of hotel is an eye catching attraction. The actual dining area is spacious with very comfortable seating. The bar staff are very polite and accommodating. I sat relaxing in the bar whilst my husband had a little shut eye, as he had driven most of the way from East Sussex.Guest review byrosellenUnited Kingdom
