We came to visit Ayr racecourse as horse racing enthusiasts.
We came to visit Ayr racecourse as horse racing enthusiasts. The actual course is fine but the buildings are dreadfully run down and facilities poor. From the outside it hardly open and given the time of year there was nothing to entice families off the beach. Poor racecourse management compared to many others we've been to. The town was also rather run down and I can think of no reason to return.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I love Irvine, the beach is beautiful and you have facilities there as well which is perfect, especially if you are taking children. I love the wee cafes along Harbour street but my favourite is Small Talk, love this cafe. The home baking is delicious! They also have a gluten free selection of cakes. I highly recommend you try this wee place. You have everything you need close by, its such a beautiful place.Guest review byKellyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
I liked the relaxed vibe on the Island.
I liked the relaxed vibe on the Island. Enjoyed my stay and views at the Cadillac hotel. Enjoyed a meal and beers at the Kustom Cadillac Hotel. Enjoyed the Taverna Pub in Rothsey. The open bus tour of the Island. A tour of the spectacular Mount Stewart House/ Castle. Rothsey golf course and a bit of fishing in the Firth of Clyde. Also enjoyed the 35 minute Ferry Cruise!Guest review byDouglasUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Regular ferries.
Regular ferries. Lots of catering and pubs and quirky shops. Beautiful old churches and regular activities in the Castle House museum and the Burgh Hall. Swimminig, cinema, supermarkets. Lovely nature trails, walks and climbs within walking distance of town centre.Guest review bySTEVENUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Great hotel, fantastic value for money, clean and tidy in a wonderful location. Superb staff in particular Robert who after I had left something of great sentimental value in my room went over and above to get it back to me, posting it on his day off.Guest review byMitchellUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This was just an overnight stop on our way to Islay from Glasgow - we took an afternoon bus to Tarbert and got private transport to Kennakraig ferry terminal the morning after. The town was lovely, with a nice castle and a couple of good restaurants as well as a pub with plenty of whisky options. We might have even stayed a bit longer had we known it was such a lovely place.Guest review byManuel E.Poland - 10.0

Greenock is fine but dreadful bus station.
Greenock is fine but dreadful bus station. I was robbed by a very incompetent laptop repair shop hotspot in town centre 20 GBP for 5 mins work and job not done. The lady in charge of the waterfront took my laptop personally and got it fixed. Great service.Guest review byJohnnyThailand - 10.0
