- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 434 reviewsThe staff were very pleasant. The dear lady who checked us in(unfortunately forgot her name) was so pleasant. The place had no mobile network and that feeling of being cut off was great especially coming from a busy and bustling city like London. Everyone at the hotel were informal and the people around seemed warm and felt like a big family. I highly recommend to stay here for a day or two when on a trip to the Isle of Skye.Guest review byGeorgeIndia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 184 reviewsIt was our first glamping experience and we loved it. The tiny hut was clean and cozy. The bed was super comfy and warm. We did not need to use the heating, even in October. The hosts were friendly and very helpful in recommending nearby activities. We also really liked the kitchen/common area where we had a chance to interact with the other guests. I would recommend this location and would gladly book it again.Guest review byforsterGermany

Portree is a quaint little town, worth to be seen. Just make sure you have evening meals reservations to skip long queues, hard to avoid on Sundays, when many restaurants are closed and most others only take walkins. But having a drink while you wait is a nice workaround.Guest review byDOMENICOSlovakia - 6.0

There seems to be a lot of closed up cafes /business premises in Kyleakin. Its a sprawling sort of place, maybe we hit it at a bad time. I would not have been too keen to stay there but for our cottage which was fabulous and if we had been staying longer it would have been a lovely house to base oneself in for trips to the rest of the island.Guest review byMaryIreland - 8.0
Passing through, needed a base.
Passing through, needed a base. It’s a bit out of the way, no buses in evening to connect to rest of Skye for returning from activities. The coop nearby makes for good grocery shopping, and the shoreline trail is scenic, for a short walk. Bus stop is a 5 min walk.Guest review byMechthild - 8.0

We stayed only one night and probably should have stayed two. The town itself is lovely but takes only a short time to stroll along the harbour and browse in the gift shops. With another day we would have done the walk up to Tobermory lighthouse and maybe taken a whale watching tour. Several excellent restaurants - we went to MishDish which was great and would have been good to sample more than one. Definitely worth a 2 night stay, but maybe not more, unless you plan to drive or cycle around the island and visit other attractions such as distillery, nature walks etc.Guest review byClareUnited Kingdom - 4.0
Very small village.
Very small village. Good charity shop and cafe and small Spar shop. Craignure Inn very poor food. Isle of mull community swimming pool good. Isle of mull food good but expensive. 45mins to Tobermory for shops and reasonable pubs/cafes. One hour on mainly single track roads to Dervaig and 90mins to Fionnphort for ferry to Iona ( £4.60 return on ferry to Iona then 10mins walk to Abbey for £9 entrance) . Good community pub in Fionnphort with good range of real ales and good food.Guest review byTomUnited Kingdom - 4.0

It was a beautiful island, but without activities, you might as well make a day trip and spend the money on better accommodation in the area, where you also have the option to choose from more restaurants.Guest review byEmanuelSweden - 10.0
Port Ellen is perfect for whisky lovers.
Port Ellen is perfect for whisky lovers. There are many great distilleries in walking distance (Port Ellen, Ardbeg, Lagavulin, Laphroaig and soon another one) and many more by bus or taxi (but taxis are sometimes hard to get and there is no Uber available).Guest review bySilvioSwitzerland - 10.0

Dunvegan was quite central to travelling across Skye for our various planned activities - whisky tour, puffin tour, walking Quiraing, Fairy Pools and Old Man of Storr. The two shops had enough for the grocery essentials and there were several cafes and restaurants to provide choice. The castle was interesting though a bit pricey.Guest review bySuzieAustralia - 10.0

A trip here needs time to enjoy the environment around and at the hotel. It is not very near a large town but a village is not far away. But that also makes it special. Make sure to get there during daylight as the roads leading to the hotel are not highways. The food was delicious and well proportioned. We wanted to stay there for longer.Guest review byRandyAustralia - 8.0

Peaceful area, definitely need own transport. Ferry just a 10 minute walk / 2 min drive which is excellent for early ferry times. Scenery is amazing and less busy than other areas. About a 15 minute drive to Broadford with a good range of facilities.Guest review byAnonymous
