Weymouth is a beautiful seaside town that captures the charm...
Weymouth is a beautiful seaside town that captures the charm of a traditional English holiday while offering so much to enjoy today. The golden sandy beach is the heart of the town, clean and inviting, with plenty of space for families, couples, and solo visitors alike. The lively promenade is filled with the sound of children’s laughter, donkey rides, and the delight of watching incredible sand sculptures. Cafés and stalls nearby serve excellent coffee and treats, perfect for relaxing as you take in the view of the sea. There is always a sense of fun and amusement along the seafront, with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere created by both visitors and locals. Whether strolling along the esplanade, enjoying the sea air, or simply sitting back and people-watching, Weymouth leaves you with a lasting impression of warmth and happiness. A wonderful place to visit, and one I would happily return to.Guest review byFREDERICKUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Having spent many holidays in Exmouth as a child it was nice to return after a number of years. Not too much has changed, which is no bad thing, and it is still a lovely place to spend a holiday. Having such a wide beach means you can have long walks along the promenade and the Marina is worth a visit too. The Exmouth Museum was new to me and is well worth a visit. The staff were very friendly and informative and, although small, it has a lot of exhibits. It's very easy to take the train to Exeter which has wonderful views of the estuary, and we also drove to St Erth and then took the park and ride to St Ives which is a lovely town and the railway line goes alongside the beautiful coast. Don't miss A La Ronde on the edge of town too. Exmouth has wonderful flower displays all around the town and everything is kept in good condition. Inevitably there are some closed shops but still a lot of choice and many restaurants, pubs and cafes to choose from as well as a cinema. We ate breakfast and some evening meals in the Weatherspoon Powder Monkey which won't be to everyone's taste but you couldn't fault the service, choice and prices. We also went to Prezzo which was very good with excellent service and The Bath House in the sea front. Before coming I wasn't sure if I would want to return in the future but this definitely confirmed it won't be my last!Guest review byMikeUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Dorchester is a quaint town that is always a pleasure to visit. It has a brilliant market and there are plenty of shops to visit. It it well served with different museums and the Tutankhamun and Terracotta Army ones are a definite visit for me. There are also plenty of cafes to have some amazing food.Guest review byAnnetteUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Busy seaside resort, and good pier and nice clean sandy beaches. However, apart from few pubs , all places were closed shortly after 9pm, including most restaurants- surprising on August Bank Holiday.Guest review byDanielaUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Busy and interesting little resort, plenty of shops, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, a fossil museum, and fossil shops where you can buy bits of "Jurassica;" there are lots of the common ammonite-types for sale, but there's also bigger stuff like fossilised shark teeth. Definitely worth visiting for longer than we did!Guest review byMarianneUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Sidmouth is a lovely town with a variety of small independent shops. Lots of places to eat and drink -and not commercialised, which I liked. the sea front is lovely and plenty of places to sit and take in the views. I visited Lyme Regis and Beer which were very pretty and worth a visit and Seaton which I wasn’t so keen on and felt it was a little tired and run down. I will certainly return to Sidmouth 😊Guest review byMarilynUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Portland is great for a weekend of walking as the paths round the island are well signposted and very scenic. The Art cafe in Easton was great with delicious cakes and a secret garden. We walked back into Weymouth along the old railway line, which is recommended.Guest review byRachelUnited Kingdom - 8.0
A lovely location but crowded.
A lovely location but crowded. Parking can get difficult so you need to arrive early. Very friendly people and good atmosphere. Lovely walks, good eating places but they get very busy. Water sports available.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
This is one of my favourite places in the UK.
This is one of my favourite places in the UK. Attractive old town centre, good bus and train services. Plenty of appealing cafés, pubs and small shops. Riverside very appealing. Surrounding countryside very attractive, plenty of good walks. Not far from the coast. Plenty to see and do in the area: Corfe Castle, Studland Bay, Swanage, Brownsea Island, and much more.Guest review byMartinUnited Kingdom
