- From £152 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 432 reviewsAll the staff in Royal Sportsman Hotel were super nice but professional — offering suggestions on where to eat, what to do, how to go to attractions etc. They were clearly short-staffed — I saw many of them worked long hours (especially the F&B members) but yet they were cheery and helpful to me throughout my stay. The room was exceptional, cosy and clean. The location was only 5 minutes walk from Porthmadog train station.Guest review byYvonneSingapore
- From £115 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,076 reviewsWe had a warm welcome by our host. The bar down the rd was also great and staff are all very helpful and friendly. We then went back for a special dinner....it was absolutely stunning. Breakfast was so much more than expected ad once again the breakfast staff was very welcoming and warm. We can recommend this hotel and would love to go back. - From £108.81 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 1,370 reviewsWe were very happy to stay at The Golden Fleece Inn. The rooms were nice and clean, and the staff was very friendly. I would especially like to mention Kieran. I had forgotten my raincoat at the hotel. I didn't realise until a few days later, but Kieran found it and sent it to my home address in Denmark. This is truly exceptional service.Guest review byGertDenmark

A charming place to visit.
A charming place to visit. The views, scenery, local people, heritage railways, harbour, easy transport access and access to amenities, shops, restaurants and shops, walks along the cob, with views of Snowdon. The Welsh Highland Heritage Railway, has an excellent museum and local staff have an excellent knowledge of the history of the area, the slate mining and heritage railways. Great for families. The scenery along the routes on the Welsh Highland Railway is spectacular. (This is separate to the Welsh Highland Heritage Railway). Suitable for families. The views along the cob, estuary and harbour are scenic and the views of Snowdon and surrounding region are very scenic. Portmeirion and the David Lloyd George Museum and his childhood home are easy to reach by car or public transport. There is a harbour museum and a number of other attractions within the region. The food at Marina La Cucina was freshly cooked and very good food. The restaurants get busy during the height of season, so we would recommend booking earlier in the day for a table.Guest review byRJUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Criccieth is a beautiful town, smaller and quieter than the other towns on the coast, but the views around the bay are unequaled. The surrounding countryside is the Lynn peninsula at it's best, very untouched and beautiful.Guest review bydavidUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Lots of fascinating Welsh history to explore.
Lots of fascinating Welsh history to explore. Highlights included trips to Porthdinllaen, Harlech, and Aberdaron. Special offer from CADW meant that we got two admissions for the price of one by travelling by train from Pwllheli and showing our train tickets when we bought our castle visit tickets.Guest review byColinUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Nefyn is a quite seaside town on the Llyn penninsula.
Nefyn is a quite seaside town on the Llyn penninsula. If you are looking for a quiet place to spend a weekend or a week relaxing, lazing on the beach when the weather permits, taking in the beautiful views, walking or hiking around the surrounding hilly countryside, then Nefyn may well be the place for you. There are golf links at nearby Morfa Nefyn. If you are looking for 5-star hotels, sophisticated nightlife or shopping, then Nefyn is not the place for you! The public bus service is limited, and so a car will be useful if you want to explore the tourist sites in the surrounding areas.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Absolutely beautiful no faults at all.
Absolutely beautiful no faults at all. Parking difficult at busy times but understandable as it’s such a beautiful place. Plenty of choice for places to eat and stay and activities. Also close to other areas close enough to visit. View spectacular , very relaxingGuest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Never been before but we found Abersoch delightful. We were very impressed with the food and visited several Restaurants. All food was very good and the staff excellent. Shout out to - The Hub, Zinc, Nwdl (Noodle), Sun Inn, Whitehall (Pwllheli). Abersoch Farm Shop definitely worth a visit too.Guest review byFrancesUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We travelled by train from Machyllneth to Pwllheli, then caught a bus to Ederyn. Both journeys were beautiful and inexpensive. The walks around the area are beautiful, with open countryside, distant peaks and sea views. It was not crowded, even in August.Guest review byGranny GUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I loved the setting - peaceful, quiet and atmospheric.
I loved the setting - peaceful, quiet and atmospheric. Completely self-catered which suited my personal needs. Directions were clear and and helpful. Proximity to the coast path was a bonus - good base for accessing other areas - off the beaten track but not too inaccessible.Guest review byDeborahUnited Kingdom - 6.0

We took the Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland railway from Porthmadog to Blaenau in one of the panoramic coaches. On the whole, we were disappointed and other people said the journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon was better.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom
