We could kick ourselves for waiting so long to visit Liverpool! Everything about it was fantastic = the warmth of the welcome and the helpful, lovely people. All the tours we did were truly excellent, namely the Magical Mystery Tour, The Beatles Story and the Mersey Cruise. We felt that tributes to famous ex-residents were all tastefully done. There is such a choice of good eating places and bars. And we were amazed by the gorgeous parks and elegant Georgian areas. Very cross we did not allow longer than two nights so now will happily return to cover off all the places we didn't manage to visit. Stayed at the Titanic which we loved and used Uber. Interesting that everyone we told about our visit ALL agreed that they really liked Liverpool.Guest review byCrispinOxUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Southport is a lovely place to visit .
Southport is a lovely place to visit . We really enjoyed our stroll along Lord street and it was a nice atmosphere with lots of cafes, bars , and people enjoying food and drinks outside, Large selection of places to eat Chinese , Indian , mexican good old fish and chips , and we found a beautiful place that did the most amazing afternoon tea. We found Southport to be very friendly and chilled place to stay . We will definitely visit again 😄Guest review byWaddingtonUnited Kingdom - 2.0

After arriving at the haydock, we were charged £20 for geting in our room at 2pm instead of 3pm, the minute we opened room door, we were greeted with a stale fosty smell, we immediately tryed to open window, only to reliese it was nailed down, & was covered in cobwebs, i asked reception if they could open the window as there was no air in room, only to be told it was broken, going by cobwebs its been broken a while, still cant believe they didnt clean cobwebs away, i then asked for room change, we got told it wouldnt be to next day, i couldnt sleep in the room the 1st night i slept in car as couldnt breath in the room, the 2nd day we told them were leaving as the room was a disgrace, no working iron, or hairdryer, the bathroom was filthy, the rooms just not been used prior to my visit, but to not clean the room at all is a disgrace, we left a nite early as it wasntb sleepable, didnt think to take pictures as we were sweating buckets and couldnt wait to lleave, £203 for 2 nights and slept in car 1st night, and left the next morning, disgustingGuest review byHelen - 8.0

John Lennon airport is a compact airport without the stress of a huge airport. There is a W. H. Smith and a coffee shop in departures open from 3.15 a.m. for early flights and clearly marked check in desks.Guest review byPamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We stayed at Knowsley as it was much more cost effective...
We stayed at Knowsley as it was much more cost effective than 2 nights in similar accommodation in Liverpool. We were down for the Everton Man City game. Unfortunately neither of us drive and as buses don't Service the hotel at the weekend meant we had to rely on taxis. For anyone who drives the location is not a problem though. Visited a few of the local hostelries. Copperpot, Derby Arms and Vikings Landing all were very friendly places with good service. Prices for drinks are favourable compared to other cities.Guest review byBryanUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Very clean . Beautiful surroundings. Comfortable.
Very clean . Beautiful surroundings. Comfortable. Not very warm especially dining room had to eat evening meal with coats on . Evening bar staff refused us a cup of coffee having already had one and then sent another person to their room to make one in their room and bring it back to their company sitting in the bar . And they were elderly. So not very good . Bar could of stayed open a little longer .... admittedly it was about 10.30pm but when you have been out and you need a nightcap in hotel even if just a cuppa not good .Guest review byMichelle - 8.0

Heswall is a friendly little town, with a good selection of small shops and eateries. Please do visit the book shop! From the outside it looks like any other shop, but step inside and you will be bowled over with what's on offer, which even includes a cafe. Heswall offers easy access to other destinations on The Wirrall, including the delightful West Kirby. It is a great spot to explore places further afield, such as North Wales, Chester and Liverpool.Guest review byJaneUnited Kingdom - 4.0

Prescot is amazing if you are going for the new playhouse experience, otherwise it does not have a lot to recommend it....we had an ok meal at Pinion, service very slow, and the meals were not quite right as ordered...it's about half an hour by train from Liverpool....Guest review byJudithUnited Kingdom
