- From £159 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 778 reviewsWe’ve stayed here before, it’s a lovely property in an ideal location, surrounded by Snowdonia National Park and close to Barmouth etc. The inclusive breakfast was fantastic, they use great produce and there’s plenty on offer. Room 310 was brilliant for our group of 6, there was plenty of room and storage, and the modern bathroom was as one would expect. Great property at a very competitive price!Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom

I liked the town, the castle, and promenade.
I liked the town, the castle, and promenade. We had a lovely walk through the town! Research where to eat. We had fish and chips on the pier very dry and tasted lick cardboard. And went for a pizza at a pizza cafe it was terrible. But on the whole we enjoyed our stay!Guest review bySargant Mladezic - 6.0
Barmouth felt too busy on arrival.
Barmouth felt too busy on arrival. The train was overheated and very crowded for the journey back to Shrewsbury. That destroyed a perhaps-naive hope that it would be an idyllic chance to view Wales. The Last Inn does not understand customer relations: poor service, sticky tables and dodgy wine is a disappointing last impression.Guest review byBrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We received a warm and open welcome wherever we visited - and where we bought something we had excellent value for money (especially AJ's!). We enjoyed a walk along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal as well as a visit to the town.Guest review byMarkUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Lovely stay in Aberdyfi it was very busy over the Bank Holiday period as usual but that's what make the atmosphere. Recommend if you visit to book restaurants as they get full and be prepared if busy they run out of food quickly so may not have the full menu.Guest review byJulieUnited Kingdom - 6.0
We had a reason for visiting Llandrindod Wells - the...
We had a reason for visiting Llandrindod Wells - the Victorian Festival which, though is is on a much smaller scale than it used to be and mainly cut back (due to lack of funding from the County Council and other sources) to ticketed events, is still a fun week, with a selection of dances and themed events. However, the town itself is quite a disappointment these days. I used to come to town for the Victorian Festival in the 1990s, but also used to visit for work occasionally, so I saw it both in full 'festival' mode and as it is at other times of year. The most noticeable thing is how few shops are actually still shops! Many are empty. It is good to see that the excellent health food shop, Vans, is still there on Middleton Street, and also the craft shop (for supplies), Bon Marche, and the bookshop. But compared with 20 - 25 years ago, there are few shops. The Rock Park spa gardens are still lovely to explore, and (although we didn't get up to the lakeside) we heard that the Lakeside has been much improved over the last few years. The Cycle Museum is definitely worth a visit if you are a cycling enthusiast or have even a passing interest in the history of cycling - it is a treasure trove of cycles and cycling memorabilia. On the plus side, there are far more bars and cafes in the town centre than I remember from my earlier visits, so more choice there. We will be coming back - because for us it is a meeting point with friends. Otherwise perhaps a good place for an overnight stay while touring Wales.Guest review bySusanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

great variety of shops, restaurants etc , good location for Breacon Beacon walking trails, love how the town is easy to navigate due to plenty of pedestrianised streets and those streets are full of flower boxesGuest review byClodaghIreland - 8.0

Rhayader is a lovely town but there is nothing much there anymore. It is the gateway town to Elan Valley, which is absolutely awesome...... the scenery and the walks are stunning. Couple of nice places to eat in Rhayader .... the Triangle and the Eagle. Theres a lovely riverside walk and the Gigrin is a must to see the Red Kites.Guest review byAndieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a beautiful little village set in a very picturesque area, our stop was just overnight after a trip to a dog show in Builth Wells, but it was very enjoyable and we will return again next year and maybe explore some more.Guest review byShirkeiraUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake.
Bala is a lovely town at the end of the lake. It seems to consist mainly of one high Street with various shops, pubs and eateries. The lake is beautiful. We hired a double kayak which cost 40.00ph and the whole hiring process was super easy. We also did the steam train ride along the lake which was lovely. There's lots more to explore so I'd definitely go back for a couple of days and explore the area some more.Guest review bysueUnited Kingdom
