We went with my husband for a chicky weekend away, and we stayed in Timble inn for one night. Everything was perfect there, a high-quality of the room, a super comfy bed, a modern bathroom. The owner pays attention to the luxury and details. The food in the restaurant was delicious, we ate evening meal - roast dinner and the breakfast. Their local fresh products and homemade bread are to die for. We were more than happy with our experience, and we would love to go back there.
A beautiful guest house in Masham, within walking distance of everything in the village!
Owners (and their gorgeous dogs) were welcoming and friendly. Jude provided us with a delicious breakfast each morning, along with suggestion of places to go.
Within walking distance of both the breweries in Masham. 🥰
We loved walking the extensive grounds and appreciated the size of our room. Our bathroom alone was the size of some hotel rooms. The port tasting was fun. The highlight was the owl and hawk experience, which was beyond fabulous. The place has a great and very accommodating staff.
To sum it up, everything was excellent. From tasty breakfast, comfortable rooms to variety of beers on tap. The staff is very friendly with great sense of humor. The hotel itself has traditional and historic feel. Top !

Ideal to explore North Yorkshire moors with its picturesque villages and outstanding views. Plenty of interesting attractions to visit, also larger places to see ( York, Harrogate etc.)
For those who have a caravan this is an ideal site for a stop-over.

Everything was brilliant from the location, the welcoming atmosphere, the food was on point, staff friendly and accommodating, great walks and a chippy across the road too!
My partner and I stayed in the purple room which has 2 double beds. This was great news to me after a few drinks and a few sheets to the wind. A short walk up a flight of stairs and I had my own bed ! No flatulence or 💤 😂 beds are comfy too.

We liked the location, architecture and high quality maintenance of Timble Hamlet and the Timble Inn. Its rural location, beautiful countryside, and walks.
The decor, rooms, layout, cleanliness, standard of service, friendliness all excellent.
There was nothing to dislike.

Burley in Wharfedale was a nice surprise.
Burley in Wharfedale was a nice surprise. As well as the obvious terrain of the Yorkshire Dales for hill walking, the town was a great base. Walks on the upland moors, and many well-maintained paths through the upper farm lands. The town itself has lots of footpaths throughout the town, so its easy to avoid just walking along the streets, and many green spaces with extensive play facilities.
A good selection of restaurants and general purpose shops.
Though parking is a premium in this popular location.

Views were fantastic. Easy to get to Harrogate every day.
Views were fantastic. Easy to get to Harrogate every day. I am not a fan of chemical toilet, but considering the difficulties of putting in anything else it was totally understandable. The road was very rough, but as it was a farm road this was not really surprising. The views were superb. Lovely and quiet place to stay. Clean and had everything needed. Would go again, but not for more than 2 nights because of the loo.

The cottage had a bright, welcoming interior that made us feel at home right away. It was clear that a lot of care and thought had gone into decorating and furnishing the space - everything from the furniture and bedding to the textiles and kitchenware was of high quality and tastefully chosen.
The kitchen was particularly well equipped, with a full range of pots, pans, utensils, crockery, and glassware - not just the basics, but everything you’d need for proper cooking and dining. There were also a number of condiments, oils, and cupboard staples, presumably left by previous guests, which we really appreciated. It made settling in and preparing meals feel that much easier and more comfortable.
Overall we had a lovely stay at the cottage, my partner and I enjoyed a very calming, refreshing weekend away and would be glad to return someday.
The property was unexpectedly difficult to find. The postcode led us a bit further down the road, and we ended up wandering around the village for several minutes trying to match front doors with the listing photos before locating it.
This isn’t a complaint as such - just something to be aware of. The remoteness is part of the cottage’s charm, but it’s worth noting that the area is more rugged than we expected. The drive in involves narrow country lanes, blind bends, and some steep gradients - often all three at once. If you’re not a confident driver or unfamiliar with rural roads, it’s something to consider before booking.
A couple of minor practical points: I'd suggest the owner consider adding a doormat. Being in the countryside, we tried to avoid bringing in dirt, but without a doormat it was a bit tricky. Also, unless we somehow missed it, we couldn’t find a kitchen bin, which made dealing with food waste and general rubbish more awkward than it needed to be.

I have been a frequent visitor to Masham for 35 years, which must reflect my love for the place.
A very friendly, quiet, relaxing town, with might not suit everyone's taste but it does have four pubs, and is an ideal base for touring the Dales and other parts of Yorkshire

Lovely village and very friendly. Great for getting about in the area . Plenty of tea shops and eating places ,plus takeaways, and gift shops to browse. Plus a great sweet shop. On some Sundays they have all different genre of music in the bandstand in the park. Something for everyone.

I know Burley well.
I know Burley well. I had grandparents and now relatives in Burley. It is a delightful village which maintains its charm. And still has a rail service!

Small and quiet village, great friendly pub but unfortunately there was a shoot on so we couldn't dine in but they had takeaway pizza on a Saturday.
Close to How stean gorge, just down the hill which is an interesting place to visit.
