- From US$201.31 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.6Good - What previous guests thought, 588 reviewsI spent two nights at the Crown Inn in Stornoway with my brother and his family and we had a very pleasant stay! The rooms were comfortable and very cleaned, very generous breakfast, and great position, in the town centre and just five minutes walk from the ferry terminal. If you've got a car there is a free parking space just in front of the building. The first night we decided to have dinner at the Crown Inn restaurant and we enjoyed it so much that we decided to book a table for dinner the following night as the food was great and there was also a beautiful view on the seaside and on the castle. The staff has been kind and helpful! If I ever have the chance to visit the isle again, and I really hope I will, I will have no doubts and book at the Crown Inn again. The Isle of Harris and Lewis is astonishing, really miss it!Guest review byAngelaItaly
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.2Very good - What previous guests thought, 533 reviewsWe had a very nice stay for two nights at Royal Hotel! When calling the receptionist and telling that we would arrive late she arranged with the staff in the restaurant so they stayed overtime to serve a delicious meal. The restaurant served us very good cooked breakfasts as well as dinners. The housekeeper Bertie was very helpful taking care of our laundry. We had a nice room with good view over the harbour and castle Lewis. Göran and AndreasGuest review byGöranSweden

Stornoway is a compact town, with good local pubs and restaurants. Lews Castle and its grounds and museum is well worth a visit. I also went to a folk music concert at the An Lanntair theatre which was excellent (I also enjoyed a pre- show meal there in its Thai Cafe). The whole island of Lewis & Harris is stunning and magical.Guest review byFinlayUnited Kingdom - 2.0

Whoever the owner is of this establishment is he should realise that a manager cannot run the place on his own even in quiet times. The managers approach to his job was perfect and his commitment to the customer was faultless. A person like him could find a job anywhere in the hotel trade these days as their are opportunities by the thousand everywhere. Just shocked to see him serve, clean rooms, do the drinks, serve breakfast and do all the computer work and probably lots of things i could'nt see. Seemed like exploitation to meGuest review byChris - 10.0

The house is wonderful as are the people who look after it - nothing is too much trouble if you have a query or need help with something The property is in a little place called Maraig rather than in Tarbert which is about 15 minuts drive away so trust the post code when it takes you off the Tarbert road!Guest review byAnneUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The Uist Islands were lovely.
The Uist Islands were lovely. We were very fortunate to catch the North Uist Highland Games in mid-July. This is an area for gentle walks and birding. Dining options are good but limited. Definitely a place to unwind.Guest review byFrederickUnited States - 8.0

It’s an ideal location to explore the island with a fascinating history. There’s a cafe, but I didn’t try it. It’s a place going through a change now, with a lot of young trees growing and some pretty gardens.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

For us it was the spectacular views, peace and quiet away from everybody. It’s so easy to get around the islands but you have to travel some miles to get to places to eat, which is not a problem in such a beautiful place.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely accommodation and host.
Lovely accommodation and host. We really liked the communal kitchen which gave you lots of flexibility on when you wanted to eat. It was also nice to meet other guests. Beds were comfortable with nice bed linen and we both had a good nights sleep. We also liked that it was centrally located and easy to get to the other islands. I would definitely recommend to others.Guest review byShonaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Stunning part of the world.
Stunning part of the world. So much more to see than we had time for, a week would have been amazing! Beckett's do a fab breakfast, not many other places open before 9am. Some fab wee gift shops, especially enjoyed the Art Gallery, The Christian Bookshop, The Baltic Bookshop, Hebridean Tweed and Delights.Guest review byNickiUnited Kingdom - 8.0
All towns in Outer Hebrides are very small.
All towns in Outer Hebrides are very small. Daliburgh is a great location close enough to multiple harbours and on the main road. The shop has exceptionally long opening hours and is well stocked (Co-op). Buses are running too and fairly frequently. Good walks nearby.Guest review byJanaUnited Kingdom
