I was house hunting so didn't see to much of spalding except for a walk round on my last day. I thoroughly recommend Turners fish n chips. It was so tasty with the perfect amount of batter and a very reasonable price.Guest review byBrendaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
A most beautiful place.
A most beautiful place. Delighted that I booked a Stamford Town Guided Tour for our first morning. Beautiful and contrasted churches.. Disappointed by Burghley House: one had to walk a long way to get a full external view and endless heavy baroque not to my taste. Go to Hatfield House instead! Delightful water meadows, well worth the walk. Shortage of places to eat particularly on a Sunday evening. Evidence of a rich cultural life. If I had to downsize or move Stamford would be high on my list of possible locationsGuest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A beautiful small town with most facilities and some lovely small independent shops. We loved the fruit and veg market on a Thursday and there are some nice cafes. Internet connection is poor so that could be a problem for some. Some cafes have WiFi. Anyone used to big-city facilities could be disappointed by the small range of restaurants and extremely quiet night life, but for most people looking for a short break away from all that, it's perfect.Guest review byStevenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Clean. Spacious room overlooking barley fields.
Clean. Spacious room overlooking barley fields. Friendly staff and a tasty breakfast buffet that was all a traveller would need. Excellent value and good to know the Old Great North Road =B1043 which is clue how to get there! We ate authentic Indian cuisine at the Resto next door and took good Value diesel at the 24/7 pumps also next door.Guest review byMrs L LUnited Kingdom - 10.0

This is a recently refurbished old hotel which has had no expense spared to bring it up to a very high standard. The ambience is excellent, high level of finishing and comfort. Wansford is a charming old village which is very quiet. The hotel sits next to the River Nene giving a lovely peaceful rural feel. A great place to meet friends and stay.Guest review byKevin JQ FordUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Nice clean tidy town. Loved the flower planting. Interesting shops and little alley ways. Easy to get around. I ate at “the grill” in Abbey road which was excellent. I also enjoyed my visit to the abbey church and especially grimsthorpe castle.Guest review byPUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Perfect location for an overnight stay after the Battle Proms at Burghley House. Early check in was fabulous as we had a nice lunch and a short nap before our evening event. Nice selection of beers and sandwiches. The rooms were comfy, tea/coffee set up and a spacious bathroom. Breakfast was wonderful! Will definitely stay here again.Guest review bygologoHBUnited States - 8.0

The town is not large and shops are not plentiful but essentials are easy to find. The locals are a friendly bunch so you do not feel excluded. It is not a tourist hotspot so don't expect funfairs or amusement arcades but rather strolling through the town to view the older buildings or sitting / walking by the river. We found it very relaxing.Guest review byrayUnited Kingdom
