We were using Oban to access the Cal Mac ferry to Lismore, as my partner's dad is buried there. Everything went very smoothly and we had a nice sailing there and back. We enjoyed a couple of excellent meals at the Waterfront Sea Food Restaurant and ES-USK Seafood Restaurant. Enjoyed an evening of live music and a few drinks in The Oban Inn. Finished the trip off by visiting McCaig's Tower, with excellent views over the town, sea, and surrounding Islands.Guest review byJohnUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Paisley is a beautiful town with so much culture and history...
Paisley is a beautiful town with so much culture and history. It is a university town, a cathedral town and a town with beautiful buildings and a great heritage. The Paisley pattern was milled in the town of Paisley, therefore the name, Paisley pattern, The public transportation is excellent and the train station is right in the center of town, well you can take a train into Glasgow in 10 minutes and have access to trains going all over Scotland and the UK. I highly recommend a visit to this beautiful place.Guest review byMonicaIreland - 10.0

Nothing to do with the location ..but..the bus from Buchanan bus station dropped us off on the outskirts of Balloch on a very busy duel carriageway..which took ages to cross safely..why don't they terminate in Balloch's own bus station...much safer as we had to walk 15 mins to get to our accomodation in rough tarain... I'd hate to think of elderly people having to endure this ... shocked to be honest...nothing to do will The Tillie Inn..maybe something should be changed to prevent this.as it has put me off getting the bus...Guest review byTownsley - 4.0
We came to visit Ayr racecourse as horse racing enthusiasts.
We came to visit Ayr racecourse as horse racing enthusiasts. The actual course is fine but the buildings are dreadfully run down and facilities poor. From the outside it hardly open and given the time of year there was nothing to entice families off the beach. Poor racecourse management compared to many others we've been to. The town was also rather run down and I can think of no reason to return.Guest review byRichardUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery.
Amazing part of the country with wonderful scenery. Most staff are extremely pleasant and friendly, but not all. Arrochar is a bit of a one horse town, although it's a great base for touring some amazing parts of the country. It's a very relaxing village with a lovely walk along the lochside.Guest review byHowden - 8.0

We stayed only one night and probably should have stayed two. The town itself is lovely but takes only a short time to stroll along the harbour and browse in the gift shops. With another day we would have done the walk up to Tobermory lighthouse and maybe taken a whale watching tour. Several excellent restaurants - we went to MishDish which was great and would have been good to sample more than one. Definitely worth a 2 night stay, but maybe not more, unless you plan to drive or cycle around the island and visit other attractions such as distillery, nature walks etc.Guest review byClareUnited Kingdom - 10.0
The views from Inverary are exceptional.
The views from Inverary are exceptional. The residents of the town are very friendly If you want to unwind, slow down your pace of life, find real peace and relaxation then Inverary would be an excellent choice to visit. We ate an evening meal from the local fish and chip restuarant and sat looking down the loch enjoying it. Walking around Inverary is easy . It has wide pavements and the town is flat with no steep gradients.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom
