Busy bustling city.
Busy bustling city. Many highlights, weather unpredictable but adds to experience. Not cheap but holidays are about exploring and adventures. Be prepared to line up, most staff and police are so helpful and friendly. Always something to see and for all ages. train system is easy to navigate and cheap way to get around. You have to see a live show on Westend, search for cheap tickets, prebook experiences to avoid disappointment in peak times.Guest review byLisa LangdonAustralia - 6.0

I have to say that Gravesend is not the prettiest of towns with many derelict buildings. The most impressive building in the town is the Sikh Temple. The town is very busy with traffic but is fairly easy to navigate around. We stayed in a very pleasant guest house outside of town which was perfect for going to Leo's Music Venue. This is the only reason we came to Gravesend. We ate at The Three Daws pub which has been pretty good on both times we visited. Traditional British Pub with a good British Menu. We had breakfast at The Hot Rod American Diner in Northfleet which again was very good!Guest review byFlotsam & JetsamUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Delightful old town with lots of nooks and crannies to explore. Lovely old buildings, especially the almshouses and the church. Friendly people. Good eating places. Smashed avocado at The Pablo Lounge is excellent! Good location for catching a bus into Oxford or for exploring the area generally. Walks along river delightful.Guest review byPamelaUnited Kingdom - 2.0

The front desk was terrible and gave us a downgrade on our room and then told us there was nothing that could be done due to being sold out and because we used Bookings.com. We complained, asked for the manager and showed the pictures on a Superior room from their website and on our booking. He moved us to a family room, but it had 2 double beds and two chairs seating vs a Superior room has a king bed and a settee and a desk. It was not what we wanted, but it was better than the standard room with a king bed (incredibly small room) that they tried to put us in.Guest review byTrinaUnited States - 10.0

There’s loads to see, The antique emporium is always a great wander, we always bag a bargain. Mr Simms sweet shop has some amazing sweet stuff, especially from America and it’s bloody genuine!! , The old post office is always nice for a quick drink and let’s be honest you can’t beat a greggs 🤣🤣however I would highly recommend MOLLIES on the High Street (same side as Waitrose just a few doors down) for an amazing breakfast and a really quirky environment, you need to go cause it’s Amazing! You won’t be disappointed It’s great in the summer there’s festivals including Bunkfest which is always a great weekend and the Boat House opposite the river which is always good value .. We are retired military and have now moved back to the north east but have spent over 25 years living in Oxford,Benson and Berkshire. We still have family there, so this really is a genuine review !!Guest review byDebbieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A good stop off town ‘Lechlade on Thames’ to visit local places like the Buscot National Trust Manor and gardens. Just a 2 minute drive to one of the canal locks ( St. John’s) and a walk along the tow path for an evening stroll.Guest review byIanUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I was in Pangbourne for a family event rather than to explore the town itself, but it made a great base. If you’re visiting from abroad or elsewhere in the UK, it’s ideally located – close to London for easy access, and just minutes from Reading, where you’ll find all the big shops, supermarkets, and anything else you might need. The town itself is charming and quintessentially British, with pretty cottages, lovely countryside, cosy pubs, and a nice selection of local shops and dining options. It would make a perfect peaceful base for visiting nearby places like Windsor, London, Reading, or even Stonehenge and Salisbury, which are just over an hour away.Guest review bySvenFrance - 2.0
The photos of the place on the booking site were great,...
The photos of the place on the booking site were great, which led us to choose it, but when we arrived we found a different reality. Firstly, we were given a different flat to the one we had rented. In this flat there were leaks in the walls, mould on the bathroom walls and a general musty smell in the flat; the available furniture was in poor condition, with a broken wardrobe door, shelves with loose screws and a bedside table with a broken foot. In the bathroom, the toiletries provided were half a roll of toilet paper and an empty liquid soap dispenser, as well as the filthy condition of the bathroom. In addition, there was bleach on the toilet seat. Finally, I would like to emphasise the difficulty of communicating with the Landlord, when we arrived in London we tried to contact him by phone and the calls were refused. In other words, the phone number given on the booking website never worked. We had previously tried to contact them by email and whatsapp, but there was no response. When we arrived at the house we were stuck outside in the cold and rain of London until after about an hour we received an email with the code to access the flat key. We tried again to contact this email address to get access to the wifi password, but there was no reply. In short, communication with the person in charge was terrible. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.Guest review byAguiar Nogueira Batista
