It's a very clean and nice property not far from Cardiff City Centre. We booked two rooms for our family and both the rooms were very nice, spacious enough to accommodate all of us. Clean toilets, comfy rooms, and quite happy with our stay. It was nice of the owner of the property Andrew to come over and greet us when we were checking out...

This is a beautifully decorated and extremely well-managed bed and breakfast overlooking the bay. We arrived after spending a week in budget hotels while on a group tour, so really enjoyed the spaciousness of our front-facing room, as well as the thoughtful amenities. The breakfast was the best we had during nearly a month of traveling through the UK. Bonus: it’s a dog-friendly hotel, and while we didn’t have a dog with us, we enjoyed interacting with the seven canines staying there, and their humans. Wish we had booked a longer stay!

FAQs about hotels in Wales

Land of the Hills and the Dales

A land of magnificent mountains, centuries-old castles and beautiful beaches, Wales is steeped in proud tradition. A centre of culture, its elegant capital Cardiff houses some of the 5-star hotels in Wales on Booking.com.

Swansea has several Wales hotels with swimming pools and is the gateway to the tranquil Gower Peninsula. It was also the birthplace of Dylan Thomas, whose famous boathouse is in Laugharne near the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.

Within this park are St Davids, the UK’s smallest city, and the colourful South Wales beach resort of Tenby. Other beach resorts include the university town of Aberystwyth, Barmouth and Prestatyn with its Blue-Flag beach. Popular Llandudno has a long pier sheltered by a headland.

Also with a pier is Bangor, opposite Anglesey - a rugged island known for wildlife. It looks back towards Snowdonia National Park, whose changing landscapes encompass Wales’ tallest mountain. Within the park are serene Bala Lake and Betws-y-Coed whose fast-flowing river becomes the Swallow Falls.

The Brecon Beacons house more lush peaks, while Chepstow to the south-east has a racecourse and riverfront Norman castle. Other fantastic Wales castles are in Conwy, Harlech and Caernarfon – possibly the best of them all.

Wrexham is the largest North Wales town with great nightlife, while nearby Llangollen is best known as for its International Eisteddfod.

The view of the sea, early in the morning, sitting in the window was incredible. So relaxing, area was quiet, room was spacious, breakfast was lovely. Fresh flowers in the room were a nice touch. Plus the made the bed is made every day and gave fresh towels every day, in the spirit of sustainability, I haven’t seen that in a hotel in quite a while.

Its location to the waterfront. Being able to upgrade to a room with a sea view was great although the window was very small and we could only see a little. The bar was great after a lovely walk along the pier with a good choice of beverages and desserts. Breakfast was lovely with A+ service Overall we really enjoyed our stay

A nice place with an excellent shopping centre.

A nice place with an excellent shopping centre. Disappointed with the lack of green areas in the centre. People, including shop staff, were very nice and helpful. However it was difficult to find somewhere to eat what we like (traditional English meals). Ended up with tasteless junk takeaway. We did not bring transport but did not need to go anywhere that was not walkable, other than we would have liked to have found a suitable eatery nearer the city centre, because we have a dog and even if allowed, he does not travel well on buses. We are not a young couple and it looked like there was little for us to do in the evenings.

Barmouth felt too busy on arrival.

Barmouth felt too busy on arrival. The train was overheated and very crowded for the journey back to Shrewsbury. That destroyed a perhaps-naive hope that it would be an idyllic chance to view Wales. The Last Inn does not understand customer relations: poor service, sticky tables and dodgy wine is a disappointing last impression.
