Very close to beach.
Very close to beach. Many other places in Santorini are high up on cliffs and a long way from the beach. Plenty of bars, restaurants, snack places for different budgets but everywhere seemed a lot cheaper than these other places. It was very friendly and good value. You don't get a sunset over the sea but you can easily get a bus and head over the other side of the island a couple of times on your holiday for this. Buses everywhere seem to be around 2 - 2.5 euroes Regular buses.. Perissa itself is easy to walk around. There is an amazing 24 hour bakery and fresh juice shop. We walked up the hill to the church and the ruins. Great walk but go in the morning, wear trainers, take water and some money to get in the ruins. Amazing views. If you like to be close to the beach and swim in the sea this is a great location however, we were disappointed we didn't spend a little more and stay closer to Oia or Fira. Generally the restaurants were good if you like traditional Greek food and the seafood was amazing however, if you like a more modern cuisine you had to go elsewhere. By far one of the best areas on the island to stay. Quieter than Fira, but with easy bus access to any part of the island you want to go. The restaurants and beaches are great. Please don't leave this area without making the long walk (or ride) to the end of the beach road to eat at Lava Tavern. It had the freshest, best food I had on the island.Guest review byAnonymous
