The place was very modern. On arrival at the place, we were greeted by professional and friendly staff. They also talked us through the room facilities and gave us a complimentary sparkling wine. The massage therapist Maria was also amazing in the spa sessions. Extremely professional and we felt so much more relaxed after the therapy session :) 100% recommending their spa facilities. We will definitely book again when we come to Chania again.

Absolutely everything was GREAT, from the hospitality, to the facilities… Exceptional service at the reception, beautifully decorated hotel for christmas, exceptional breakfast with a lot pf choice , great and comfortable room and all the staff just excellent…. The accommodation is exactly as shown in the pictures. It is very nice, luxurious and brand new (clean!) and the bed was really good. The staff really goes the extra mile, they even helped us find a parking space (he parked the accommodation car elsewhere!). One day we used their breakfast: they bring it to your room, it was very nice and plenty enough (we still had for lunch). The accommodation is very well located. Just 5 minutes of walking to the bus station (so we took the airport shuttle to the hotel) and few minutes more walking you are in the old town. A supermarket is just 2 minutes walk from the hotel (if you go out of the hotel, turn left). We liked the fact that it was only 10 minutes walk to the "busy" old town but that we were staying at a quiet location. And if you are planning to do the Samaria gorge: then you will enjoy the Hamam in your room after that walk!! (that was really nice). On our last day we could use the swimming pool after our check out. So we could relax and swim before our flight back.

    Everything was great!! We really enjoyed our holiday here, this hotel is an absolute gem! The staff was really friendly and helpful, the breakfast was delicious and versatile- every morning they put different traditional food both sweet and salty, and no matter what time you arrived to eat everything was always refilled. We had dinner in the hotel’s restaurant as well, the quality of the food was superb, so don’t miss it to trying it out.The beach was beautiful, calm and comfortable, perfect for a relaxing vacation! Location is well connected with Chania, the local bus line is really close to the hotel, less than 5 min walk. Rooms were cleaned every day deeply, and the bed was also very comfortable. Absolutely worth it!! We will definitely return here! :)

    It was clean. Staff are great. Location is 15 min to Rethymno, and 35 mins to Chania which I found convenient. Nearby, there is a small street across the road with plenty of restaurants and cocktail bars. It makes sense to take breakfast + dinner, so Half Board. Otherwise you are stuck in the hotel. AC was working, cleaning and laundry were timely and smiley. Close to beaches in the south of the island. Not far from Balos. Far but reachable from Elafonisi. Has bus stop nearby but car rent opens different perspectives of the island.

    Samaria Hotel was absolutely fantastic. We travelled to Chania for our honeymoon and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay so special. The receptionists were always smiling and helpful, the valet staff were friendly and quick, the housekeepers did a great job cleaning our room. The location is perfect, just a short walk from the harbor, lots of nearby restaurants, supermarkets, pharmacies, etc. We would stay here again in a heartbeat (hopefully soon!).

    The very friendly staff, always available to give suggestions and offer support. The meal service was also good, although it could have been improved with more options. Also the hotel itself had very good conditions, it was close to the sea and our room had an amazing view, we couldn't have picked a better one to watch the sunrise. Finally the hotel cats that greated us every day were lovely!

    Kissamos offered us a wonderful mix of relaxation and local charm. The nightlife was a pleasant surprise, with cozy bars and lively tavernas where we enjoyed delicious food and drinks. Evening walks through the town square and the nearby streets filled with local shops and traditional products were some of the highlights of our stay. It's a great place for couples looking for a laid-back yet authentic Cretan experience.

    We have stayed in Agia Marina five or six times over the years and it was the first place we visited in Crete over twenty years ago. Although we like to think that we do not return to places and have travelled the world, we have been to Crete at least fourteen times and have gravitated towards Agia Marina. Now in our late 70's, we are comfortable in the knowledge that it is a safe place to holiday, with a good range of accommodation, a predictable climate for the most part, some good restaurants and shops and the people are welcoming and friendly. It is also a short bus ride or taxi (about 8 miles) from Chania, for a change of scenery, a fantastic Venetian harbour and a good range of shops and restaurants.

    Plataniás is bustling - very busy full of shops (which are great) and restaurants. There are, unfortunately, too many places serving chips with everything! We wish there had been some more options, i.e. rice, authentic Cretan dishes, taverna based meals, but it is what it is. There was no need for a car - most places were walkable. Our villa was amazing, but we would not return to Plataniás - it seemed to have dropped down a notch since our trip last year. We saw quite a few young (and older) men walking around shirtless and some girls dressed quite inappropriately. I'm not a prude, but it made the area far less salubrious than it should be.

    All beaches were clean and tidy.

    All beaches were clean and tidy. Enjoyed by the locals, often staying past sundown. Lots of tavernas to enjoy. Short walk to 2 supermarkets if needed, well stocked. Bought cheap loungers from supermarket, which saved a huge amount on sunbeds, as we were there for three weeks!

    Paleochora is a great family resort.

    Paleochora is a great family resort. Except for the main street, the rest of the town is very quiet and calm, making it perfect for relaxation. There are a lot of restaurants and shops on the main street and near the port. There are 2 beaches close to each other - one is small and rocky, and the other is big and sandy. Both have crystal clear and calm waters that are very shallow. There is also an old Venetian fortress with a view of the town and the sunset. The local bus station offers cheap bus tickets to Xania, Elafonisi beach, and Samaria Gorge. The locals were very kind and friendly. Overall, I recommend Paleochora if you want a relaxing holiday. Since it's a small town, there is a chance you would get bored after a while.

    Its fairly barren around the hotel. No other hotels. A lovely beach bar 50 m from the Oros Hotel. Apart from that you'd have to get a taxi to anywhere else. The views are stunning though over the hills and sea and the sunsets are fab. Wild goats making a nuisance of themselves, eating the hotels planting. There is a main road between the hotel and the beach but there is a tunnel under the road. It's not a big deal though. We didn't leave the hotel though other than the cockail beach bar.

    The relaxed atmosphere and the lovely apartment at Falassarna beach studio apartments. Excellent breakfast served in the courtyard overlooking the beach. The apartment was spotlessly clean with stunning views from the balcony. Plenty of tavernas nearby serving great food. A lovely beach within walking distance and Big beach a few mins drive away. We recommend having a car. Also walk up to Ancient Falassarna historical site. It is a 20 min walk and well worth it

    Massive thing i wish i knew before is the bus system is the cheapest form of travel to and from the Chania airport and is fairly quick and regular, prices starting from 2.50 euros .Stalos was a perfect destination for all age groups , clean , all the bars and restaurants are family/locally owned and all the people are freindly and polite . The beach is clean and easily accessible .

    Small village beach with 7-8 taverns directly on the beach. Frequent bus connection to Chania and the touristic villages on the way. The village itself doesn't offer much. It's perfect starting point to visit Balos and Gramvoussa (from Kissamos), Falassarna, Elafonisi.
