Great hotel in the center of a beautiful quiet village with a small harbor. Perfect place for a romantic, slow long weekend. We loved the room, right at the water. Breakfast was great and also the rest of the food of high quality. But, the staff made it a ten out of ten. Such a great group of people, that even though we were just visiting, we felt became our friends. We will definitely be back!

The host was amazing! Thodoris made sure that we had everything we needed for a great stay at Gytheio (from recommendations for restaurants to road tips). Very nice accommodation. Room is big enough, nice view and a balcony. Nets against bugs on all windows and doors, nice to sleep with windows open. Comfy beds. Breakfast is great, you can choose from a menu the night before, lots of choices, nice cake and fresh orange juice. The restaurant downstairs is also very nice.

    We drove from Olympia through Sparta to Kinsterna Hotel. After driving through what might say a little bit run down villages it was unbelievable experience to arrive at this oasis. Everything was so beautiful, the food and staff impeccable! We stayed for 2 nights and took an took a hike in the island of Monemvasia, which is like another world. The only tiny thing which i thing I did not like was the English pop-music played in the restaurant. I would have preferred some Greek or instrumental music, but that is probable just me 😊

    We loved our room which had a balcony with view over the sea. Also the breakfast was wonderful, with lots of different items, both sweet and savoury, nicely presented on a large wooden board being served to your table. It is also amazing to have the breakfast on the terrace right next to the sea with the waves literally smashing against the wall just next to your table.

    Very nice resort with a unique pool. The ladies, managing the resort, are very friendly. The breakfast, included, with salty, sweet meal and hot cappuccino is very good. In 2 minutes walking you reach all the tavernas in the port.

    Monemvasia is a beautiful destination, where one feels instantly relaxed and at peace. Besides the slight difficulty in finding parking outside of the castle and the small "hike" that might entail for the more unlucky ones, the scenery inside is absolutely worth it. Overall a charming destination, with a lot of history, lot's to see, great for a quick getaway or a short vacation.

The Mani Museum and the best part of the island in Gytheio are neglected (museum indefinitely closed!!!!), derelict buildings at the best part of the small island, next to the well kept church of St Peter, old boats rotting by the sea...

    Ideal place for a short (3-4 days) holiday. Beautiful beaches (although when it is windy there are waves), and lots of tavernas and fish restaurants in the port. To get there is a 4.5 hours drive from Athens to Pounta, and a 15 mins ferry ride from Pounta to Elafonisos with several ferries crossing every 30 mins. Small Simos beach is the best, and you can find very spaceous umbrellas but pricey (50-60 euros for 3 persons)

    The archaeological site was fascinating. We spent a half day there. There is enough remaining there that you can actually visualize what life must have been like. Bring water along. No bathroom facilities that we are aware of. Hotel summary: Beautiful room with nice balcony to enjoy views from, loved the total design of the complex, fabulous food. Welcoming staff.     Romantic little town with cobble stones pathways and a relaxed vibe - food was authentic and everything was close by which made walking easy with 2 children. The beaches in the near area are also very stunning Gerolimenas as has great fish tavern right on the beach. Our fa our ire meal was at mavromichaikiko roof top with stunning views I’d the sunset. Our highlight was Fonda’s beach and having fins with the kids through the caves and fantastic snorkelling at alypa beach .

    I was there for a family reunion.

    I was there for a family reunion. Meet my Greek cousins for the first time. We had a good time. We'll be going back in a couple of years, still more to see. We'll go in a different season. August in a heat wave... not my cup of tea. We also went to the Archaeological Museum in Sparta. Learned much. Glad we went as the Sparta exhibit at the National Archaelogical Museum in Athens was closed for updating.

    Our drive from Athens was Aprox 5 hrs .

    Our drive from Athens was Aprox 5 hrs . We opted to stay one night on the way to Neon Oitilon. (Sarandon hotel) 1.5 hrs from Athens airport. The drive to Neon Oitilon then took aprox 3hrs (Tolled motor way each way ) (12 tolls @€1•95- 2.25 )very good roads until you reach Neon Oitilon .(Typical narrow country roads lead down to the village.) The motorway offers a number of good rest stops . We had a 4 night stay . Neon Oitilon is a small sea side village - nestled between to large escarpments. There are great drives and walks. Spectacular scenery . We had hot days and cool evenings . Light jacket is advised for the cooler evenings and am. (May 2022) Apparently it can get cool in the evenings during the height of the season. The AM soon warmed up . There are some nice villages in the surrounding area : Limeni and Aeropolis are a Aprox 5 and 15 min drive The journey to - Gythio and surrounding areas are aprox a 20 -25 min drive. Here you will find a large selection of nice beaches and restaurants. Spectacular scenery all the way . We tried a few restaurants in all the areas we visited. Our favourite beach place was straw beach followed by Glyfada beach in Gythio. Limeni Village has a good choice of Restaurants and eateries / bars .

    The view from our room was absolutely beautiful. It is a lovely town with plenty of places to eat and drink. Mani Mani was great, as was Akryioli. The beaches were beautiful, my favourite spot to swim was near the point, close to the hotel.

    Neapoli Voion has a little bit of everything.

    Neapoli Voion has a little bit of everything. It has just the right amount of nightlife (dining and beverages) with plenty of places to try for a couple of weeks. Beaches inside Neapoli aren’t Greece travel-worthy, but within a few minutes, you can be at some very nice beaches that could compete with any of your favorite beaches. Come here to enjoy the culture, food, and small beach town life. Take day trips to the beautiful beaches between Neapoli and Elafonisos. Notable, and I hope I am not sharing the secret, but Maganos and Pounta have beautiful beaches. If you’re not aware, they close the main road from 9:00 PM to 1:30 AM every night to allow for free roam of the streets between the bridge and main restaurant areas, including the two playgrounds and basketball court. Kids can run around with very little fear of getting lost or into much trouble.

    I'd recommend max two nights in Monemvasia. The old town is beautiful and easy to access. No more tha half a day is needed to explore it however it has several very nice restaurants which you can go back to and enjoy for dinner. There are no organised beaches in the immediate area though you can swim off the rocks at the base of the rock or travel not to far to other towns to swim. It's a nice destination for a weekend.
