- From £280.38 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.3Superb - What previous guests thought, 158 reviewsIncredible hotel on the lake with stunning views, facilities, and lovely staff. We’re a British couple in our late 20s and it’s one of our favourite hotels that we’ve ever stayed in. There is a shuttle boat that runs from the hotel to Flores island which is a pretty cool mode of transport. Few things we particularly liked: - The staff are accommodating offering great excursions (Tikal was the tour we did and enjoyed) and were very welcoming, particularly given our Spanish was very poor - the food at the hotel is really good, nice touch preparing the breakfast boxes too when we had early departures from the hotel - good drinks options too (beers and cocktails the highlight from our side, wine was expensive but that’s to be expected) - there are kayaks and pedalos free to use too which were a nice touch. - the room is stunning with beautiful views, good TV, impressive bathroomGuest review byThomasUnited Kingdom
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 433 reviewsLovely and well maintained hotel structure, courtyard and pool. The pool was bigger than we expected, very clean and a part of it was under a roof for sun protection. Location was ideal for us: 10 minutes walk to the island Flores Less than 20 minutes walking from the airport - in the early morning still doable by foot because it was not so hot yet. Not far from the public bus terminal to travel to Belize for example . 2 supermarkets next door. Very friendly staff that helped us finding out how to travel to Belize by public bus and let us store food in their fridge. All in all very good value for moneyGuest review bySusanne KieflGermany
- From £23.87 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.5Very good - What previous guests thought, 454 reviewsPeaceful, excellent location, great staff, great menu that’s focused on what’s available locally, fruits yoghurt, omelets, seafood, pasta broad and reasonable price points - Coffee was great each morning. Access to swimming in the lake was the cherry on top. Welcoming place owner is visibly involved, it’s rustic appeal is coupled with enough modern needs for those well travelled to enjoy the tranquilityGuest review byBelleAustralia
- From £71.18 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.3Good - What previous guests thought, 361 reviewsFantastic hotel. I stayed an extra night as it was so comfy I was concerned about parking my bike ( my fault I didn't realize they had no parking) but the wonderful woman at reception said I could park my bike in the lobby from 9pm until 6am. I didn't bother, I parked it on the street like the locals, no problem. Pool is nice. Wifi is fantastic. I would definitely stay here again.Guest review byRangiNew Zealand
- From £72.54 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.4Very good - What previous guests thought, 938 reviewsGreat aircon, perfect location only 2 mins walk from where buses drop you off. Staff were really friendly and we booked a tour to Tikal with them for a great price and with a fantastic guide. We were able to leave our big bags at the hotel all day on our day of check out as we were getting a night bus that night. Free drinking water in the lobby and bottles in the roomGuest review byLauraIreland

Nice little town on a small islands, the water level of the lake varies so parts of town are inundated. Waking up in the morning you hear the howler moneyks, very special. Do go and visit Tikal, it made me so happy to see that there is so much intact rainforest left and the rangers take good care of it. But be prepared that it will be very, very, very hot and humid!Guest review byWeraGermany - 6.0
The maps they sell you lie.
The maps they sell you lie. not all the buildings that show as uncovered are. Many of the "buildings" are just 1000 year old rubble piles under jungle canopy. REALLY poor signage or interpretation of the structures and NO information about what may have been discovered in the structure and where it may be viewed. Amazing temples here but the Guatemala Anthropology gang do a really poor job of communicating what the Maya were like. There are few areas that are cleared, as it would have been where Tikal was a massive city, so there is no sense of scale. The management can spent a ton of money on don't leave your trash signs, but nothing about the people who built the place.Guest review byFritzy goes sightseeingMexico - 10.0

it is a small village by the lake, 20 plus minutes away from the entrance of Tikal national park by car. it has nice restaurants, cafes and markets as well as motels for a lot cheaper than it is inside the park. we felt safe there even though it was just one overnight stay.Guest review byLiUnited States - 10.0

Flores is a charming little city with great restaurants and hostels and a few cute boutique (but not fancy) hotels. Most people just fly up for the day, but there is a lot todo in the area and it’s really worth staying for 3-4 days. We recommend getting a private lancha boat for $50 for a half day for your group and touring the very large lake. You can see a wildlife refuge, short hike to a viewing point, and island with a cool museum, and several small lakeside towns in this amount of time. Crater Azul and the Actun Ha caves are also cool. Flores has great cheap restaurants including Los Amigos, Terrazzo, Maple y Ticino, and Maravuya.Guest review byDoctor FloydUnited States - 10.0

One of the biggest cities of the Mayan era, it gives you a notion of the immensity of the Mayan civilization. I recommend using the service of a guide, that can explain all the history and secrets behind the walls of the city. If you're just visiting the park, 1 night is enough, as the tour takes half a day. Inside you can buy water, sodas, chocolates and cookies, so bring your own snacks if that doesn't apeal to you.Guest review byIvoPortugal - 10.0

It’s rustic, welcoming tranquility with the perfect peaceful outlook with access to the small community and places of distinct interest like Yaxha-Nakum-Naranjo and Tikal. When returning from a day of tours the menu is set up for a broad range of needs, vegetarian options to seafood and meat options. Simple yet broad with local honey and yoghurts etcGuest review byBelleAustralia - 10.0

Separate room units a little walking distance from front desk and restaurant but the rooms were spacious and very nice and clean. I liked having a phone in the room for assistance. The view was lovely from the room. Shuttle service a plus. Restaurant clean and good food choices but I wouldn't order beef dishes again tough to eat! Pool water too cold for me! Nice service.Guest review bybenitaUnited States - 10.0

Experiencing Tikal in person is a world apart from simply watching it on YouTube. The awe-inspiring scale of the ancient ruins, the rich sounds of the jungle, and the immersive sense of history are things that can't be fully captured on a screen. Standing among the towering temples, surrounded by the vibrant life of the rainforest, brings a profound sense of connection to the past that no video can replicate.Guest review byDannyUnited States - 8.0
Much more relaxing here than Flores or Santa Elena.
Much more relaxing here than Flores or Santa Elena. You can easily get the colectivo for 25 QTZ to flores, and it drops you back in centre of El Remate. Sometimes they even go to your hostel along the main road if you ask nicely. A few restaurants and shops but the highlight is definitely the views of the lake, sunset over the water, sitting on the dock!Guest review byLeilaUnited Kingdom
