AustraliaVelanera Hotel had a great modern vibe. It was quiet, clean and comfortable, and our room was very spacious. The staff were excellent. A fabulous base for travellers with a car who wish to explore southern Istria - there is ample free parking on site, making this a stress free option. it's about a 12 minutes drive to Pula, and 20 minutes to Cape Kamenjak. There is a good restaurant on site too.

The rooms evoke a sense of a refined home away from home, and this year’s stay in a junior suite with a beautiful terrace was no exception. Furnished with cozy sofas, chairs, and umbrellas, it was the perfect spot to relax for hours, watching the pool melt seamlessly into the sea.
The hospitality was truly exceptional. Mary, Luca, Dino—and everyone else on staff—embody the art of genuine care and service. We especially want to highlight the remarkable culinary journey Dino curated for us. As vegetarians with slightly selective tastes, dining out can be a challenge. Yet each evening, Dino crafted delightful surprise dishes based on just a few clues about our preferences.
Mary’s expert wine pairings added another layer of magic to every meal. We couldn’t be happier with our experience at Valsabbion and are already looking forward to our next visit.

United KingdomThe staff are extremely friendly, polite and also good fun. Love the breakfast, so much on offer I couldn't try everything. The hotel owners also make wine, which is served at the hotel, pleasantly surprised as I've never tried Croatian wine before. The food is excellent in the restaurant, the octopus salad is a must, the ceviche incredible with home made bread served at wach meal. Wonderful service too. The secure underground parking was a huge bonus, even for a large SUV with a roof box, plenty of space. The room we had was big enough for the 3 of us, lovely comfortable beds and a partial sea view. The hotel is brand new and in a peaceful location on the sea front, a short drive away from Pula town centre if you want to enjoy a vibrant town centre. There is a local boat hire facility a short walk across the bridge into the Marina where there is also a restaurant and bar. A boat tour is a must, even for a few hours (negotiate on price) . Ask for Ivo, very friendly young man and capable skipper.

Pula is a very nice place with friendly people. We really, really enjoyed it! The restaurants were great, and there was so much to see and learn. The Kamenjak park is fantastic and although in august it was really full of people, we could find a nice place where to swim without too many people. We went around with the bike and in general we could follow paths where car were not allowed, otherwise it was a bit annoying because there were a lot of cars. We ate at the Safari bar, it was full of people but they are very well organized and the food is good and reasonable priced. Probably, the best would be to go in June or September when there are less people. Pomer is a small peaceful village.
Pomer is a small peaceful village. But what I liked best was Pomer Beach which is in the area of the local campsite. history on every step.. (roman, habsburg, fascist, croatian,..) cute small city, where in center everything is a couple of hundred meters away.. good restaurants. there's also small e-scooters around the city for tourists to quickly rent through app if walking is tiresome.. nearby are the amazing brioni islands with interesting own history and sights, you can rent a small golf car for driving around the island, or go swimming, stay at hotels on site. there's also an old elephant that has very small own area, although it could easily be attached to a much larger area where donkeys are. she could walk there to have some company and back when in need of solitude. now she walks in small circles of insanity! Croatian public made a fuss about her plenty in the past, but caregivers keep saying she's fine and change isn't good for her, while every tourist wonders about that just by looking at her..Guest review byBorutSlovenia
