We loved Tokaj! It is a charming little town.
We loved Tokaj! It is a charming little town. We were grateful to find the information centre as we didn't know the area. We thoroughly enjoyed tasting the delightful wines. The whole region is very picturesque, with rolling hills and vineyards. We went for a short drive to Tarsal to see the statue of he Blessing of Christ. A little further on we saw the quaint St Therese on top of another hill. We had dinner both nights at our hotel where the food was fabulous! I particularly loved the famous local wine Tokaj Aszu! It was great to get out into the countryside away from the big city and taste the local wines and local produce. A highlight of our trip.Guest review byJenniAustralia - 10.0

You can buy great wine at Tarcal. Plenty of wine cellars can be found here or in the surroundings of Tarcal. For a walk, you may visit the statue of Christ located on a hill above the city. It can be nicely accessed with a baby stroller as wellGuest review byVáclavSlovakia - 10.0

It's a small village on the countryside, which means that it's very silent. You can find lots of wine cellars offering their produce and you get to meet all of the friendly people operating them. The views are simply astonishing, so is the hospitality. If you go there during harvest season, you can partake in many different wine festivals or other harvest events. Definitely recommend!Guest review byNorbert SimonPoland - 8.0

Mad is the perfect destination for wine tasting at small, family wineries. It has a great appearance, having been refurbished recently, but keeping the old-world feeling. You can easily walk everywhere. The history of Mad is important, and many historical buildings have been preserved, and are open for visitors. The main road from Miskolc has been widened and repaved, so driving there is easy and much safer than before. It is quiet, safe, and inviting.Guest review byGeneHungary
