FAQs about hotels in Bali
An Island Dream
The dream destination of Bali is where volcanic landscape meets lush rice terraces and pristine beaches. Not to mention the fantastic surfing, cheap shopping and pervading spirituality that have made this Indonesian island a long-time favourite for backpackers.
The island’s capital is Denpasar in the south, but its surf and party capital is nearby Kuta. Swaying palm trees line the beach here and many more cover the grounds of the Bali hotels on the beach in more exclusive Seminyak to the north.
On the island’s north coast, Pemuteran beach offers lovely views of the sloping mountains heading towards the Bali Sea. Many beaches on this coast are black sand, including sweeping Lovina beach from where dolphins can often be seen. Tulamben in the east is one of the better diving resorts in Bali, while Sanur is a popular option for families.
Ubud is the island’s cultural capital and houses a monkey sanctuary in its jungle-like landscape. An ancient Hindu temple is found here, but the best-known temple is Tanah Lot, surrounded by water. There are also hundreds of fantastic spas in Bali, as well as meditation and yoga classes that you can join.
Whether you choose to stay inland or by the beautiful coastline, Booking.com has a great range of villas, guest houses and hotels in Bali.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.4Superb - What previous guests thought, 1,359 reviewsOn arrival the staff welcomed us with refreshing drinks and some cold towels and a hand made flower necklace. Check in was seamless and we were offered free lunch to use over our stay. The staff brought our bags to our room and we were told about the facilities and how to contact reception etc. They also provided a mozzie plug in. Our room came with lots of snacks and drinks. The view from the room was amazing, our into the rain forest, absolutely stunning. Our private pool also had this same view, amazing, it blew our minds. The main pool also has this same view! The bathroom was gorgeous with a huge bath and a shower and plenty of space for our suitcases etc. The bed was super comfortable! The landscaping of the gardens around the rooms is amazing so nice to walk around and take it all in. We also received a massage in the onsite spa and it was so good and relaxing, definitely recommend.Guest review byjennaIreland

I feel Ubud is rapidly losing its reputation as a centre of the Balinese arts (I have visited Ubud seven times in the last 40 years). The roads are now heavily congested and I am not sure the Balinese Culture is what is attracting the tourists, who now come to Ubud in their droves (I found I was the only westerner visiting a major three-day annual ceremony just outside of Ubud and a major cremation event in the centre of Ubud had very few tourists showing any interest.Guest review byMark GalerAustralia - 6.0
Great for family and learners surfing watching.
Great for family and learners surfing watching. Great swimming pool swimming - temperature good not cold like Ubud! Near to the wonderful perfect Poppies Restaurant [10 mins walk] been "the place" since 1973 I believe. Go there most days - hidden in a garden and every single staff is lon term and part of the Poppies experience.Guest review byRobertSingapore - 8.0

I’ve travelled to Bali a lot over the years but have never stayed in Canggu. It has really top quality restaurants, shops and spas. But I wouldn’t be rushing back the traffic was a terrible and getting Around took so long to get anywhere. The trip to the airport took 2 1/2 hours which was approximately 17 klm from where I was staying and not in peak hour!!!Guest review bysally thomasAustralia - 4.0
Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (...
Bali has changed for the worse since we where there last (before Covid). It is no longer the "awesome value" holiday destination. Most (probably all) the accommodation and eateries are owned by ex-pat Aussies and, as a consequence, the prices you pay for eating out and accommodation are "Melbourne" prices - eg. Spice Mantra entrees are around AU$16 plus about 20% in additional taxes. Maybe the business owners are trying to make up for what they lost during Covid??? I think that is why other holiday destinations (such as Vietnam) are becoming more popular.Guest review byWILKINSONAustralia - 10.0

Uluwatu is awesome but very busy now compared to other years. We loved the location of our villa, very central yet so quiet for how busy it is in Padang Padang. Easy to get around. Villa was beautiful we didn't want to leave! Could have done with a tv for quiet night in that's about it. The ladies at the office are lovely but quite pushy with payments when you book things and communication sometimes a bit mixed up. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay :)Guest review byJennaNew Zealand - 8.0

Great restaurants. Great paths along beach. Super mall with designer shops. Felt safe. Downside would be they are digging up the pavements which will be good for future travellers but was quite hazardous presently.Guest review bylorraineAustralia - 8.0

We did the diving course so 3 course + 3 days beaches are enough for a quick visit. But if you want to relax with the view there plan in more days. Be careful for overpriced taxis as there is no Grab or other alternatives. Take the scooter as much as you can.Guest review byDanielBelgium - 10.0

Highly recommend Nusa Lembongan if you looking for somewhere a little quieter and away from the hustle and bustle. There were plenty of restaurants and bars to choose from and food available for every palette.Guest review byCliveAustralia - 10.0

Nusa Dua has many faces and brilliant options! It is not just for rich folks. Geger beach is excellent… also for local food. Bali Collection is another gem … like 3 International Airport Terminals but outdoors. Huge! Amazing shops and restaurants all in a pedestrian environment!Guest review byvolkerAustralia - 10.0
Needed a place to sleep for 2 nights.
Needed a place to sleep for 2 nights. I was by myself and was out 7am to midnight every day. The hotel was perfect for that. Neat, clean, modern. Has all amenities like in-room tea/coffee, hot shower, great shower pressure, clean comfy beds, properly working AC etc etc. The room would be small for 2 people but for one person it was perfect. I took a room with twin beds so I could leave my suitcase open on the other bed. Staff are very helpful. Great location. I asked for a room that did not face the road and it was very quiet.Guest review byAyeshaIndia
