- From £81.49 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 70 reviewsThe resort is a great place for family holidays, especially ones with younger children. You can spend your entire trip here. Though we were out of the resort exploring during the days, coming back to the clean beds, hot water, good wifi, it feels perfect. I liked the buffet breakfast with a view of the lake. The Indonesian dishes are usually good. Definitely try the Soto udang at Pangambatan cafe. You can use Visa to pay here. If you'd like to do sightseeing, they can arrange drivers for the whole day, payment is cash up front. Service here is excellent, especially from Ms Citra, the Room Division Manager.Guest review byJonathanSingapore
- From £27.32 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 6.7Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 106 reviewsTheir executive room is the best value in Medan and beyond. Breakfast is very rich, they have a business center too, not sure why the hotel is only 3-star, maybe due to it's relatively small size or the immediate surroundings (location is centric but outside street is a bit dusty and hectic). But the experience is 5 star, at least when staying in an executive room.Guest review byJanRozsCzech Republic

Medan is an interesting city with a mix of different cultures - Batak, Javanse Achenese, Chinese. There are some excellent restaurants - in the old China Town. I recommend Cambridge Mall for Restaurants and Cinemas. I also recommend visiting Berastagi , 3 hours by car. A charming Hill station where they grow beautiful flowers and fruits.Guest review byPeter W JacksonUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We just left and are already thinking about when we'll return. We've experienced a wonderful place: its people, its jungle, its culture. We've always been greeted with smiles, joy, and support from the entire town. The food is always great! And what can we say about the surroundings? We're nature lovers, so there couldn't be a better place. We'll definitely be back! We stayed in Eriono, an unbeatable location. We also stayed at the Garden Inn. But there are many good places and plenty of places to eat or drink. Getting around Bukit is very easy; you can walk everywhere, but if not, you can take a motorbike, tuk-tuk, or car; anything is possible. What we really liked was the four-day trek through the jungle, and being able to observe orangutans was magical.Guest review byVanesaTorricoSpain - 10.0

Tuk Tuk is mainly where beginner tourists stay, just like me. Tuk Tuk has many restaurants, cafes, hotels, resorts, homestays and guesthouses. Those are located along the main road at Tuk Tuk as well. If you do not want to spend on cafes and restaurants, no worries, there are convenient stores and shops along the main road. Very simple. But I would suggest people go to the restaurant and eat their local cuisines and seafood for the better. The only downside is the main road of Tuk Tuk is very troublesome and tough to walk and cycle as it is very steep going up and down. It is not a road that is stable. I would recommend people take a motorbike, scooter or car to travel along the main road.Guest review byRachelSingapore - 8.0

The volcano hike was amazing and so beautiful, but there wasn’t much else to do after that. If in a straight couple or a mixed gender group it might be more pleasant to wander around and explore the the town, but as a solo woman or two women it was quite uncomfortable in terms of the amount of attention and harassment we received. If I went again I would just arrive in the afternoon, do the hike in the AM, and then head off again after that.Guest review bySaraUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Busy port town, must be organised to get to the from places on time and not many places are walkable to and from. Good central point for exploring other parts of the area, but not the main attraction itself.Guest review byFaigl - 6.0

Medan is a big, noisy, dusty city. Nothing to do here or no memorable sights, although the mosques are pleasant to lok at. Enough shopping malls though to pass a day. Easy to get around as GRAB. Non meat eaters can find it difficult to find somewhere good to eat.Guest review byRosemarieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We went to Medan solely so we could visit the Orangutans in the wild - we were totally successful in this enterprise. Only one day was required in visiting Mount Leuser National Park. Three tourist sites stood out for us - they could all be visited in one further full day: Tjong A Fie Mansion Maximum Palace Rahman International Wildlife Museum (quite expensive at Rp 300,000 each) We spent 6 nights in Medan - we could have done it all easily in 3 nights! Compared with other Far-East cities, Medan lags behind in tourism preparedness.Guest review byGraemeUnited Kingdom
