Galway always has a lovely vibe, with lots to see and do and plenty of bars and restaurants to enjoy. We were only staying one day but got to walk the town and visit St. Nicholas's Church, the oldest structure in the city at 800 years old. The exhibits in it were great in telling the history of the city albeit in a working church. It's also good to walk along the banks of the River Corrib see the Spanish Arch, Shop St. etc.Guest review byPaulIreland - 8.0

Beautiful setting, excellent facilities and great ambiance. Stayed with my parents and had a very relaxing time. Beds were very comfortable and the en suite facilities were great. Would to bring my grand kids and dog next time. Would definitely stay again.Guest review byJospephUnited Kingdom - 6.0
Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants.
Plenty of shops, bars and restaurants. The National Museum of Ireland is just a few minutes drive away. Castlebar is ideally located for exploring County Mayo. The local library is excellent too with very friendly helpful staff who were only too willing to help with a little family history enquiry. We only stayed for one night and had our main meal in Lana, an Asian restaurant. The food was lovely and plentiful. So much so, we didn't bother with breakfast the following day.Guest review byGeorgeUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Ballina has a lot to offer.
Ballina has a lot to offer. Very friendly people with lots to do in the town and a great gateway to other delights in county Mayo. Some really great pubs and restaurants and a great Arts Centre. The Jackie Clarke Collection was must see venue to visit if you are interested in Irish history. Only downside was the nocturnal boy racers that kept us awake on one of the nights.Guest review byROBERTUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Cong is a beautiful historic village with its own dramatic...
Cong is a beautiful historic village with its own dramatic ruined Abbey and the extraordinarily beautiful woods adjacent to Ashford Castle. There are many lovely walking trails amidst the huge trees - that include some redwoods. Sadly, many trees were downed during the devastating Storm Eowyn in January 2025, so a number of trails, including access to Lough Corrib beach, have been blocked. Also, be aware that this is a popular tourist area and buses can disgorge large groups at any time during the day. All the more reason to stay overnight!Guest review byRobertUnited States - 10.0
Really good value.
Really good value. Great location for exploring beautiful area. The dorm is really low priced but clean and comfy with room to store possessions. Kitchen rather under-equipped especially in terms of saucepan provision.Guest review byJenniferUnited Kingdom
