I met up with a lot of friends and relatives so didn't have much for sightseeing apart from going on a lovely walk by the Suir as far as Carey's Castle. I found a lovely restaurant the Queen Bee in Irishtown where they serve lovely food and staff are very helpful and friendly. Mulcahy's in Gladstone Street serve lovely lunchtime food I bought a lovely jacket at TX Maxx at a reasonable price Clonmel is very easy to get around and there are local busesGuest review byMaryUnited Kingdom - 10.0

If you intend to explore Tipperary and the coast with a car a bit, this town is a good spot to stay. Less touristy and central to major roads. Very picturesque. One day is enough to see Cashel and one night and day to explore Cashel and Cabot.Guest review byMaryUnited States - 8.0

Town centre a bit tired but castle and river walk was very pretty. We parked at Swiss Cottage and walked into town (20 mins). Later tried Galileo restaurant for Italian/European - was good food but take your own alcohol. Had drinks in Cahir Hotel. Old, historical building with a good bar area and some seating outside. Found free street parking but there’s also a large car park.Guest review byRACHAELUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We originally chose Thurles for its proximity to Cashel and availability of lodging within our budget range. Part of Saturday was spent touring the Rock of Cashel & Hore Abbey, a 30-minute bus ride from Thurles, If we would have known there was a Hurling event scheduled on Sunday, we would have stayed an extra night! We had a delicious selection of Thai food at YI THAI on Parnell St. The service was fast and friendly. The prices were very reasonable for the high quality of the food. Our second day we had a late lunch at Ryan's Daughter restaurant which closes at 5:30. The food was very good, however, my homemade dessert, apple pie with ice cream, was divine.Guest review byJackieUnited States - 10.0

Fab hotel for a complete getaway break.
Fab hotel for a complete getaway break. Great spacious bedrooms - we booked the deluxe room, great leisure centre, plenty of parking, food was fab we had breakfast, lunch and dinner at this hotel. Despite being very busy at lunch and dinner you did not feel that you where rushed eating your meal. Relaxed atmosphere. It is off the main motorway/roads which for people seeking a quiet break away is ideal. We would highly recommend it.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
