We did two day-trips in the full days we had staying here, one to the North and northwest, the other to the northeast. We also saw things on the way from the KEF Airport, and on our way to the next destination on the Ring Road.Guest review bymarybethUnited States - 10.0
Great place in south of Iceland.
Great place in south of Iceland. The town of "flowers" is a good name for this place, as it is the warmest place in Iceland, where they grow flowers and enjoy life. It has the best swimming pool of the whole country, with an amazing "steam room" that is heated with steam straight from the vulcanic core of our planet.Guest review byJonastRussia - 10.0

Centre of Fludir has grocery store, a gas station and 2 hotels - all four located very closely across the street. So we could get full tank of gadoline to drive further and wr had really good breakfast in hotel, but for the evening got some food in the shop. We didn't spend much time there and sayed only for one night driving through from one destination point to anothes as we dind't find any interesting object to visit in this town.Guest review byLauraLatvia - 8.0

I only stayed for one night and I didn't get to use the kitchen but I could have stayed longer. Lovely kitchen and shared space with a fabulous view across the fields and to the Geyser so close. A lot of care and thought has been put into the guesthouses layout and decor. Quirky and beautiful.Guest review byRuthAustralia - 10.0

Geyser area is a popular stop in Iceland.
Geyser area is a popular stop in Iceland. Although I was skeptical of a hotel, located at a tourist, attraction, the hotel impressed us. The facility was new. The restaurant was top notch. In the evening After the tourist flow slows down, it is awesome to have so close to a cool attractionGuest review byJasonUnited States - 8.0
Nothing but nature.
Nothing but nature. Very close to natural sites like Bruarhlod, Strokkur Geysir, and Gulfoss Waterfall, and not too far from Iceland's only Ethiopian restaurant in Fludir, and Thingvellir National Park.Guest review byAnonymousIraq - 8.0

We stayed in a cottage several km from Selfoss, but went into Selfoss to eat and do grocery shopping etc. The town was fine, but it's not a tourist attraction. The country itself is the attraction, and it is amazing. Selfoss is perfectly located to explore it all.Guest review byGordonUnited States - 10.0

The small town is founded around the hot springs - there was a geothermal park in the centre where you can boil an egg in the hot spring and eat delicious rye bread cooked in geothermal steam. We also hiked up to the geothermal river to bathe in the warm water surrounded by snow!Guest review byAnonymous
