Location is quiet and feels like an agriturismo but close enough to Dorgali and also Cala Gonone. Good AC in the room, excellent restaurant with a beautiful patio area to relax and enjoy the food, we had one of our best meals in Sardegna here! Staff is engaged while seeming almost a bit shy, always very sweet and helpful.

We were upgraded to a lovely room with a view over the gulf. The room was clean and provided everything we needed. All staff at the hotel were extremely helpful. One of our favourite places that we stayed during our trip to Sardinia. The rooms are clean, spacious, and really nicely decorated. Opt for a room with a balcony overlooking the sea - the views are incredible! The location was definitely the best in Cala Gonone, right on the water by the port and 2 mins to lots of restaurants. A great restaurant with lovely views of the Golfo. There is also a bar in front of the hotel that plays music for a couple of hours a night (not late at all). It really adds to the vibes, especially if you have a waterfront room and sit out on the balcony with some wine. The staff were super nice too. We had initially booked another hotel but after driving up to it we decided there was no way we could stay there. For sure this is the best hotel is Cala Gonone and real value for money.

From the moment we arrived at Su Gologone, we knew we were in for something extraordinary — but what we experienced went far beyond our expectations. This is not just a hotel; it's a destination in itself, a soulful and immersive celebration of Sardinian art, culture, and craftsmanship. Every corner of the property tells a story. The hotel is meticulously curated, with stunning artistic details, hand-painted tiles, vibrant textiles, and thoughtfully placed artifacts that reflect the island’s heritage. You can feel the heart and history in every space. It’s like walking through a living museum — one that you get to sleep, eat, and dream in. We honestly lost track of time just wandering through the many hidden nooks, terraces, and art installations scattered throughout. Every turn offered a new surprise, a new moment to savor. The staff were equally remarkable — incredibly kind, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making your stay memorable. Despite the elegance of the setting, there’s nothing pretentious here — just warm, Sardinian hospitality at its finest. And then there’s the food: an absolute highlight. Dinner was such an experience, rooted in tradition but elevated with creativity and care. The ingredients were fresh, seasonal and the flavours rich and authentic . The wine selection was equally impressive, showcasing an incredible range of local Sardinian labels that complemented every dish beautifully. Su Gologone doesn’t just offer luxury — it offers meaning, depth, and connection. It’s a place that stays with you long after you leave. We’re already planning our return, and next time we’re staying longer to soak in every moment of this magical place.

It's in a tremendous location in a vibrant and delightful town that feels like a real place with much more going on than tourism. It is a lovely area with a multitude of beaches, friendly people, and plenty of restaurants. It is a long way from the airports, but the roads are good and so the 80 minute drive from Olbia isn't onerous. A parasol or some other sun shelter is a must (although it is possible to hire parasols on some beaches) - the sun is very intense and shade can be difficult to come across on many beaches, especially those accessible only by boat.

Absolutely loved Orosei- such a beautiful town with plenty of bars and restaurants. Lots of locals around so didn’t feel overly touristy. Within half an hour of loads of stunning beaches but Orosei beach itself is pretty good anyway. Great base for exploring the local area. We would highly recommend Pizzeria Orion for amazing pizzas!

The region (Barbagia) is a paradise for outdoors activities---hiking, climbing, trail running, spelunking, mountain biking. Moreover, one of the most beautiful sections of the Sardinian coast (the Orosei gulf) is only a half hour drive away, with great opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and sea kayaking The city is small, quiet, and very safe with excellent food. Moreover, its rich cultural tradition (Nuoro officially calls itself "The Athens of Sardinia") offers several options such as museum and exhibitions focused on the local history and culture.

It is very nice to discover the inside of the island, and stay more in the mountains; Olinea is a perfect location, as you can still drive to the beach easily if you wish, but stay in a really calm area, with beautiful landscape; close to other things to visite like the Gorropu Canyon, Sorgenti Su Gologone, wine testing, etc; Again our stay at the property Dimora S'Ena Manna was a fantastic base to visit around, or just to relax at the property, depending on the days.

Keep in mind that out of season there is very limited offer for dining out as the town is very deserted. Travelling Sardinia out of season is difficult in the way that no opening hours on google apply. You need to be quite patient and inventive with food. Nevertheless, Galtelli is just what we've needed - peace and quiet in the spring sun. 100% recommending to walk (a little too long on paved street) or drive (and park halfway) up the hill above Galtelli directly from town - there is an amazing view and nice vegetation. A restaurant called 'Sa Cantina' was basically the only option open to eat in town in March, but food was amazing. Best eat of the trip, definately recommend! Galtelli is a great location to explore east Sardinia from.

    Loculi is a small town.

Loculi is a small town. Perfect for evening walk, but just one. After one walk you will see everything. I highly recommend to rent a car and see places around Loculi. We 've seen a mountain, beaches, and a lovely roads without people (felt so good)

A very nice place to go for beaches. enjoyed the boat trip.

A very nice place to go for beaches. enjoyed the boat trip. Would like to take another one with smaller boat if we stay one more day. It was less crowded in May. Wish there were more info on hiking trails. Good restaurants: San Francisco - reasonable price Ristorante 4 Mori - fancier placement of food, more expensive, long wait for the food to arrive.

The town is unique and very interesting.

The town is unique and very interesting. It is the right size for our interests - not too big, but big enough for a variety of restaurants and shops. Easy access to the beach and tourist attractions if you have a car.
