FAQs about hotels in Campania
Stunning Scenery and Remarkable Ruins
Wonderful beach resorts, a wealth of history and winding, cliff-hugging roads – these are just a few reasons why Campania is so admired.
Spreading around a bay, the capital Naples is a mix of monumental architecture and narrow streets. Known for pizza and pulsating life night and day, it extends along the coast towards Pozzuoli, site of a Roman amphitheatre and the Phlegrean Fields volcanic area.
The most notorious volcano is of course Vesuvius, whose eruption in 79AD destroyed Pompei and Herculaneum. The ruins of both are an amazing insight into the sophistication of the Romans. Even older are the well-preserved Greek temples at Paestum.
Agropoli sits on a rocky promontory overlooking a beach and harbour, and beautiful Palinuro is at the tip of the Cilento National Park. Other fantastic Campania resorts are on the amazing Amalfi Coast. Ravello, high on a hill, offers stunning coastal views, while Amalfi and Positano cascade down to the sea. Around the peninsula is Sorrento, home to several 5-star Campania hotels, while offshore are the fabulous islands of Capri and Ischia.
Inland Caserta has an impressive Royal Palace with huge gardens, and Avellino nestles in a valley between the port of Salerno and Benevento, site of yet more Roman remains. See Booking.com for an excellent range of apartments, B&Bs and hotels in Campania.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 216 reviewsWe spent a lovely week at Le Palme Resort and felt truly welcomed from the moment we arrived. The bungalow was spotless, and the location couldn’t be better—just steps from the beach and close to everything we needed. A few moments of noise here and there, but nothing that spoiled our relaxing holiday. The resort’s entertainment team, made our week unforgettable. Their energy, friendliness, and ability to engage both kids and adults really brought the place to life. Every show and activity felt fresh and fun ,it added so much to our holiday We left feeling rested and would happily come back. missing the resort already 😢Guest review byAntonellaUnited Kingdom
- From US$178.97 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 204 reviewsWe spent 5 nights here to attend a wedding in the area, we had 5 children with us, 2 teenagers and 8,10 and 11. The hotel was spotless, pool was gorgeous, play area for children, the reps in the kids club came looking for the children to join. The staff couldn't do enough for us, they were very pleasant. A ring belong to my daughter fell down the drain in the bathroom, it was of sentimental value to her, they didn't hesitate to help and got the ring from the pipe for her. Highly recommend.Guest review byailishIreland
- From US$135.90 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,381 reviewsRich decorated building. Very nice territory. We slept well, enjoyed our breakfast and spent some very peaceful hours here. There was some event in the evening in the banquet hall, but it doesn't interfere. Seems that it's a place for events so may be it's not so comfortable in other days We loved rose bushes (red and white) and saw two cats black and white. I think there can be a kind of story :)Guest review byDariaGreece
- From US$369.66 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 7.7Good - What previous guests thought, 1,266 reviewsThe hotel is located exactly at the entrance of the city of Salerno. Our room was very large and very nicely renovated. We were told that the rooms facing the port have been renovated and the rooms facing the sea have not been fully renovated. We chose the renovated room and it was very nice. Of course, the view of the rooms that have a direct view of the sea is definitely better.Guest review byBahaminIran

Other than our BnB and maybe the underground tour, visiting this city was honestly the worst part of our trip in Italy! For one, it felt dirty and unsafe in the surrounding parts of the main station. The food was okay at best, caused stomach pain at other times, such as the "famous" Napoli pizza (do NOT recommend). The Pompei tour was so-so, and the underground tour was cool, but our guide ended it suddenly in front of a bunch of eager waiters trying to force us to their restaurants to buy their food. The Viva Toleda station was NOTHING worth seeing inside or outside the station, and you had to pay to ride the metro in order to see what was advertised online. We do not recommend going to Naples at all. Period. You can spend your time better in other parts, such as in the northern part of Italy or in Sicily.Guest review byAndrewJapan - 4.0
Capri, smalfi and other surrounding areas were way better.
Capri, smalfi and other surrounding areas were way better. Better beaches and more character. The food was hugely over priced and awful. There were very few beaches which all had a charge of around 25 euro. They were crammed into and not pleasant as no sand. The only free beach was a tiny area with boats very near. There was green moss on the walk way into the waterGuest review byKellyIsle of Man - 10.0
This is just a wonderful place.
This is just a wonderful place. We were there in August which should be high season but it wasn't too crowded. You of course have to have some tourism so that restaurants and shopping will thrive and for us this is just the perfect balance. Not too many people "in your way" but still enough to have a variety of restaurants, shops and all sorts of services. We will 100% be returning to Ischia... most likely more than once and more than twice.Guest review byGunnar GeirIceland - 10.0

Salerno itself is a nice town to explore with lots to see, there are some good restaurants Bistro Nastro and Al Dente. If you love Gelato then Nettuno is very tasty and you get to sit on the waterfrontGuest review byJamieUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Capri is great to explore via taxi, get up early and head up to Ana Capri, less traffic more intimate area. The chair lift is a must to the top of the mountain, and lunch up top of the mountain is amazing. Capri is nice in the evenings to walk around and shop with plenty of places to get cocktails, and explore.Guest review byAnonymous - 8.0

Amalfi is a small and charming town with beautiful architecture and a lovely atmosphere. However, since it’s the central town of the entire Amalfi Coast, it tends to get very crowded — which unfortunately takes away some of its charm. That said, it’s still worth a visit, especially to admire its history and beauty. But I highly recommend exploring the nearby towns as well — like Positano, Atrani, Maiori, Minori, and others — each of them has its own unique character and is often much more peaceful and authentic.Guest review byLiza ManijaLatvia - 10.0

Pompeii is a great place to visit, particularly for the archaeological site. People around the town itself are friendly and there are lots of good eating places. There are lots of places to stay within a short walking distance to the ruins itself.Guest review byJillItaly - 10.0
Great views, scenery and nature.
Great views, scenery and nature. A bit tiring due to the stairs. Your hotel's location is important, mine was very well located. Not far from the beaches but still with a very nice view. I recommend the restaurant Donna Rosa, very nice food and elegant place for dinners.Guest review byGAMZEGÜLTurkey - 8.0
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town.
Caserta is a pleasant ordinary town. The Royal Palce is jaw dropping and it is a 8E return train ride from Naples. With a car, there are many fantastic Roman sites and a spectacular coastline within 30k. The town has quite a number of excellent Pizza restaurants, all competitively priced.Guest review bypaulUnited Kingdom - 10.0

The city is medium and what I don't like but this looks to be Italian style, they close the shops/stores to early ( about 20:30 ) ; for me a place on the sea cost acting like this is unusual !Guest review byPANTEA
