Perfect stay. Very easy to get to the Biennale from Lido. Also good location to enjoy the beach in the evening. The hosts were very helpful and kind. Brekfast with homemade pastry was a good start of our nice days. Thank you very much!

We got a spacious room with large, private balcony and magnificent view over the Laguna into Venice. Wonderful to watch the sunset over Venice. Very pleasant and welcoming staff in the hotel, helpful, friendly and service minded. Old, historic hotel, very charming exterior and interior both in building style, materials and decorations. Fresh and nice, well ventilated and clean. Beautiful garden with bar and dining area, with large trees offering shade. Hotel Mabapa felt like an oasis, with Venice just a boat ride away, and the beach a short walk away. Possible to borrow bicycles at the hotel. Great selection in breakfast buffet, cosy and bright breakfast area.

    I recently stayed at the Hotel Europeo in Sottomarine, Italy and it was a wonderful experience. The hotel staff were incredibly friendly and helpful during our stay, making us feel very welcome. They even went out of their way to lend us bicycles for free, which was a fantastic way to explore the beautiful town of Sottomarine. The breakfast spread was amazing and definitely exceeded our expectations. It was an all-you-can-eat buffet with a variety of sweet and savory dishes to choose from. We were spoilt for choice and enjoyed every bite. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our stay at the Hotel Europeo and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sottomarine. The hotel staff were great, the free bicycles were a huge plus, and the breakfast was delicious. We fell in love with both the hotel and the town and cannot wait to return.

    Nice place, very clean and comfortable. The furniture was a little old but it was really clean and the kitchen had everything you needed. The swimming pool is big and deep enough, my children liked it so much. Our room had wifi, although it was not included in the order. I liked a big enough hotel's territory with a private beach. We had a wonderful time here.

    Sottomarina is a charming but a simple beach-village. Chioggia feels like a poor-cousing of Venezia. Interesting, but not that special. Worth visiting if you are in Veneto, but nothing special. Italy has far more interesting beaches in the southern regions.

    A world away from Venice proper, with cars, beaches and light pedestrian traffic. The usual tourist hotspots are only a ten minute ferry ride away, so you can enjoy the best of both worlds. Your vaporetto pass can be used on the regular busses

    First thing: beware of street vendors, they are very annoying with their tricks 😊 In the season, Rosolina mare can offer a lot of fun (amusement park, street bars, casino and more). I recommend visiting markets (you can feel that market culture there). I would recommend a trip to the lookout tower and to the Botanic Garden (wild sea and more). And btw, they've got very good Icecream in Italy 😍

    Staying in the Lido was great if you like to get away from the touristy hot spots. The Lido was quieter and you have access to beaches for a swim to cool down. Lots of atmosphere in the bars and restaurants. Food was really good too. Plenty of boats top and from Venice itself.

    This is a place I would advice to visit. Every time I find something new here, enjoying summer evenings and salt water smell... Fishing boats and sound of the waves... Markets on Thursdays and evening concerts in July at Musica in laguna festival.

    I only come there because of the wonderful nature and the beach. Dining is terrible, and the town is like out of the 70ies. But that doesn't matter, it's rather like the cherry on top. The only thing I don't like there is, as mentioned above, dining. In 8 years I haven't found any good restaurant - and tested them from € to €€€€. They are all the same. They may vary in the freshness of the used ingredients - but they all don't know how to uses spices for good taste. Try to see the free public nature beach, where all Italians enjoy the sea. I never go anywhere else.

    I haven't reached to the 10 km long Sottomarina beach though...

    I haven't reached to the 10 km long Sottomarina beach though, as yet, as I came to see this year's Venice Art Biennale which shows were evenly spread all over Venice city, in particular at the Aresenale and the Giardini places where the concentration of artist participants is bigger. Through this past week, I had to hurry myself everyday to reach there and return back to my hotel on time. Sottomarina is a seaside resort and a locale developed as a beach resort attracting visitors from nearby cities like Venice and Padua. Its city, Chioggia was the biggest salt mine in Europe once and is older than Venice. The area of my hotel is quite remarkable as it fulfills itself with modernist residential architecture. Besides, it's environ has an interesting mix of vegetation; breathtaking trees and foliages that make the air pristine, enriching the Adriatic ecosystem.

    Lido is a beautiful island that makes up part of Venice, but...

    Lido is a beautiful island that makes up part of Venice, but is not part of the main busy island. You can take numerous vaporetto lines (with beautiful views!) to get to the island, and once you arrive, it feels like a different world. On one side, you have the bay with views of the the main island and can see all of the boats coming in and out, and on the other side, you have sandy beaches! The island is peaceful, but still with tons of restaurants, bars, and activities! There are buses that run along the island, but it is also easily walkable to get to where you need to go.
