FAQs about hotels in Lake Garda
Laidback Resorts and Great Watersports
Set against the backdrop of magnificent mountains, Lake Garda is Italy’s largest lake. Colourful houses and laidback resorts line its shores, each with their own unique character.
Sirmione juts out on a promontory from the southern shore and is accessed through a picturesque, 13th-century castle. Desenzano del Garda to the west has a relaxed harbour and wide promenade with lots of pavement cafes overlooking the lake.
To the north is the sheltered bay of Salò, former capital of the Republic under Mussolini – it’s not hard to see why he chose here as an escape. Continuing north the lake narrows until it reaches its point at Riva del Garda by the southern slopes of the Alps. Although watersports are practised all over the lake, the weather conditions here are particularly favourable for sailing and windsurfing.
On Garda Lake’s eastern shore is Malcesine, whose 13th-century castle stands proud on a rock by the water. Further south is the sophisticated promenade of Garda, and close by is Bardolino – famous for its fabulous red wine. Near the lake’s south-east corner is Gardaland, Italy’s most visited theme park.
Booking.com has hundreds of Lake Garda hotels, apartments and B&Bs with direct access to the beaches and shores of this wonderful Italy holiday destination.

Very charming city with nice restaurants, great views and adorable Lago di Garda. There are so many different options for activities - walking in the city or around the lake, cycling, bathing on some of the beaches, going with boat in the lake, etc.Guest review byBoikoBulgaria - 10.0

Interesting and lovely city; these days castle and lake are the main tourist attractions but the Grotte di Catullo was an unexpected delight. Even the name is an understatement : "gotte" implies caves but this is a magnificent villa and one of the major archeological sites in northern Italy.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 6.0

I have the impression that the town has lost so many of its services - supermarkets, fruit and veg shops, delis - and the permanent citizens of Peschiera have put their efforts into restaurants, bars and shops. It is a very pretty town but I feel it is not a real town but a tourist town. In high season the ferries are frequent to visit towns around the lake. The bus service in the area functions but is crowded due to the huge number of tourists.Guest review bySuzanneCanada - 6.0

It really was an R&R stop as we were hiking the MTB and moving onto the Dolomites. It wasn’t really our type of place, the little towns up the coast were pleasant, unfortunately as said they were not our scene .. so can’t really comment for others ..Guest review byVanderput - 10.0

Having spent 311 nights in Limone you must understand that we like it and the surrounding north Lake Garda area. Last year it was selected as the most superb flower decorated town in Italy and at the international competition won the top five 'petals' in it's category of small resorts. The winter population is 1200 people but usually busy with visitors from the end of April till mid October. The only criticism this year is that I detected a cigarette end on some steps! Standards are slipping but the Mayor, Il Sindaco, was quite distressed. If in doubt just go and you will not be disappointed.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Lovely town with lovely restaurants and bars.
Lovely town with lovely restaurants and bars. Can get a little busy during the day and at night, but we ate just a little earlier to avoid waiting too long. Great base to explore the top of Lake GardaGuest review byBrianUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Great and beautiful country not only lake.
Great and beautiful country not only lake. Riva, Torbole, Limone and Malcesice are quiet and friendly cities. Siermione and Peschiera standard to visit. Enjoy there a nice views from Monte Baldo! Be aware that parking and travelling time can be horrible i summer season. Plan you trips to soon morning otherwise you spend hours in queues waiting for park space. For travelling from notrh to south use A22 highway. Travelling from Torbole to Peschiera around lake takes 2 hours (cyclists, willages, queues)Guest review byMartinCzech Republic - 10.0

Lazise is easy to navigate being flat, car free, full of shops, reastaurants, historic sites and a ferry to explore other ports on beautiful Lake Garda. There are beaches within walk-in distance. There is paid parking outside the town walls and some handicapped parking available on the streets.Guest review byAnn B.W.United States - 10.0
Lake Garda is a wonderful destination for a holiday with...
Lake Garda is a wonderful destination for a holiday with plenty to do, on and off the lake, each village/town has its own charm and is different to each other in many ways. hiring a car is necessary if you want to explore further away from the lake to places like Verona, Venice, Mantova etc. but the ferries on the lake are very frequent and a great way to explore across the lake, The East side of the lake has more sun than the west which does loose the sun during the afternoon due to the mountains. Some of the towns can be very busy in high season so if you don't like crowds perhaps consider visiting the lake earlier in the season or during September or October when things are quieter.
