FAQs about hotels in Cinque Terre
Cliff-Hugging Beauty
One of Liguria’s most beautiful areas, the Cinque Terre are 5 UNESCO World Heritage-listed villages dramatically positioned on the Mediterranean coastline.
Each has a train station, but the most exhilarating way to visit the Cinque Terre is on foot. It’s not easy at times, but is definitely rewarding. The route starts (or finishes) at Riomaggiore, the southern-most village, home to a range of accommodation including a few Cinque Terre hotels on the beach.
The easy road between here and Manarola is called the Via dell’Amore, or Lovers’ Lane. Colourful Manarola houses hug the rocky cliffs overlooking the turquoise water below. The next village along is Corniglia, the only one not by the beach, but which offers panoramic views from its hilltop position.
Next is Vernazza, arguably the most picturesque of the 5, spread over a narrow promontory jutting into the sea and with a castle tower at its tip. Still very much a fishing village, it is centred around its small harbour and beach.
The longest beach is at Monterosso al Mare, the last town on the trail. Due to its location and easy access, it is home to what are possibly the best Cinque Terre hotels for families on Booking.com. However, whichever village you choose to stay in, you can expect wonderful views and fantastic food.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 71 reviewsWe just stayed at this beautiful hotel with my family and had the most wonderful experience. The hotel itself is stunning, with breathtaking views from absolutely everywhere — our room, the restaurant, the breakfast area, and even the pool all offered incredible panoramas that made the stay unforgettable. The staff was amazing — truly one of the highlights of our stay, specially the Venezuelan brothers — they were very kind, helpful, and welcoming. The breakfast was delicious and well-prepared, with plenty of options to choose from, and we also enjoyed a lovely dinner at the restaurant.Guest review byBelenSpain
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 451 reviewsLocation is perfect, just minutes walking to the train station, and surrounded by shops and restaurants. The room is cozy and quiet. Breakfast was delicious! Even though a full table of food was for three of us, the owner offered to made the omelettes for us as well. We only stayed for a night, and we wanted to visit the villages early in the morning, the day we checked out. The owner was so kind! She offered us leaving our luggages until we came back at 3pm. We felt so grateful because we were able to visit and even hike between the villages during a short stay. Thank your very much!!!Guest review byThomasUnited States
- From £359.29 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.1Superb - What previous guests thought, 344 reviewsWould have loved to stay there longer. Everything was exceptional - especially the views and the peaceful atmosphere that the whole environment had to offer. The reality is better than you can see from the pictures. The views from the restaurant are stunning, but the food is pretty average. We liked our room and the comfortable bed, but what made it most special was the terrace where we could enjoy the views and a peaceful evening with wine.Guest review byLiisEstonia

It is more practical to stay in La Spezia especially if you have luggages to drag along - in CInque Terre, stairs, narrow steps and steep slopes are really challenging to do with baggage. There are wider range of options of food in La Spezia, and considerably cheaper than the ones in Cinque Terre. It is also so convenient to travel from La Spezia to the towns of Cinque Terre.Guest review bySue AnnAustralia - 10.0
Monterosso al Mare is kept very clean and we felt safe.
Monterosso al Mare is kept very clean and we felt safe. Nice walking paths and many restaurants and shops to see. Even though it is a beach town, you don't see many children. It's more of a romantic adult getaway spot. Restaurants are small and most seating is on the patio. Many cannot accommodate strollers or parties greater than 4.Guest review byTerryUnited States - 10.0

I really enjoyed the beach at levanto and the night life was exciting, every evening the had organised some kind of a event . The most exciting part was the bicycle ride along the galerie levanto- bonassola. Also the punta della madonna ( chiesetta madonnino della punta ) was reachable with a cycle. Anyone should walk along ( hike) through the sentiero levanto- monterosso.Guest review byRashen IsurangaItaly - 10.0
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion.
The best on the Cinque Terre villages in our opinion. Plenty of restaurants to choose from or takeways to sit in the harbour and eat plus bars. No cover charges like the other resorts we visited. Great atmosphere. The Cinque Terre is overpriced in general not just for food/drink but also the tourist tax/ train tickets/ walking trails etc. but as long as you know this it is a lovely place so you need to tick the area off your listGuest review byCaroline - 10.0

We loved the quaintness of vernazza. No cars etc around.we had 5nights and wandered to all villages.the little supermarket is very small and hours not the greatest but plenty of places to eat.during day may be busy but morning and late afternoons were fabulous.there were free concerts on too in the square which were delightful.cann enjoy takeaways on the rocks with beautiful viewsGuest review byCatherineNew Zealand - 8.0

3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot.
3 nights was enough to see Manarola a lot. We swam, had dinner nightly, met the locals in the wine bar just above the church and visited 2 other towns. Our hotel room was at the very top of the town, and then up 3 flights of stairs. It was a very steep hill. Be sure you know where your hotel is, it's a very vertical town.Guest review byBretUnited States - 10.0

Quaint little town with easy access to other Cinque Terre towns. Great hiking. 34 flights of stairs from train to town so maybe not a good place if you don’t do stairs. We really liked the town but it isn’t the place if you’re looking for a party scene.Guest review byRichmondUnited States - 10.0
