FAQs about hotels in Lombardy
Sophisticated and Serene
The diverse region of Lombardy touches the 3 largest Italian lakes: Lake Garda, Lake Maggiore and Lake Como. Their beautiful shores house many Lombardy luxury hotels and even more luxurious celebrity residences.
The rich and famous also flock to Milan, one of the world’s fashion capitals, where designer boutiques are found alongside La Scala opera house and the iconic San Siro football stadium. To the south, Pavia is best known for its elaborate monastery, while Monza to the north-east hosts the F1 Italian Grand Prix and World Superbike Championship.
Nearby Bergamo is the hub for cheap flights to Milan and it also has a historic old town, while to its east is peaceful Lake Iseo. A smaller lake is located by Varese, and artificial lakes also almost entirely surround the important medieval city of Mantua, seat of the Gonzaga court during the Renaissance.
Brescia to the north-west has monuments dating back to Roman times, while Cremona to the south-west has an impressive cross-shaped cathedral and huge belltower. This beautiful city is on the Po, Italy’s longest river which forms part of the Lombardy border.

- Scored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 506 reviewsWe were impressed by this B&B. You feel like you're in a story and it's like going in time. The room and terrace were tastefully decorated, every corner had something interesting. Breakfast was included in the price, it's a very pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant, good music, and the owner herself serves you coffee. It is conveniently located, very close to the lake and restaurants/shops. I highly recommend it if you are looking for unique experiences! ☺️Guest review byAxentiiLuxembourg

This was our first time in Milan and we were pleasantly surprised. There is so much to see with the beautiful Duomo and other sights. There is an excellent transport network with trams and metro and buses. Make sure to do any shopping before coming to Milan as Milan is full of exclusive top brand shops, so nothing is cheap. The Leonardo museum was my favourite and a great insight into the genius that he was. The Duomo museum is also nicely done.Guest review byJiteshUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It is a wondeful city with Ferries' pier, making it easy to reach and explore all famous cities of the lake Como (Menaggio, Bellagio, Varenna). One must be ready to wake up early, at 6 AM to buy full-day Ferry ticket. Once it is done, the Como lake can be explored freely with no need to stay in the queues.Guest review byVladislavItaly - 10.0

The old town of Bergamo is fascinating and well worth a visit. We spent one whole day slowly walking around the old Venetian city walls - with stops at cafes along the way. We would definitely recommend doing this. There are spectacular views and you really get a sense of the history of Bergamo.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Interesting and lovely city; these days castle and lake are the main tourist attractions but the Grotte di Catullo was an unexpected delight. Even the name is an understatement : "gotte" implies caves but this is a magnificent villa and one of the major archeological sites in northern Italy.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 6.0

It really was an R&R stop as we were hiking the MTB and moving onto the Dolomites. It wasn’t really our type of place, the little towns up the coast were pleasant, unfortunately as said they were not our scene .. so can’t really comment for others ..Guest review byVanderput - 10.0

Having spent 311 nights in Limone you must understand that we like it and the surrounding north Lake Garda area. Last year it was selected as the most superb flower decorated town in Italy and at the international competition won the top five 'petals' in it's category of small resorts. The winter population is 1200 people but usually busy with visitors from the end of April till mid October. The only criticism this year is that I detected a cigarette end on some steps! Standards are slipping but the Mayor, Il Sindaco, was quite distressed. If in doubt just go and you will not be disappointed.Guest review byDuncanUnited Kingdom - 6.0

Hotel easy to find although there was some confusion at the airport as to where the free airport shuttle bus left from but perhaps the driver was just having an off day. The room was well equipped and spacious but we had no hot water in the morning. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Staff were very helpful and friendlyGuest review byMargaretUnited Kingdom - 10.0

A must visit city, far better experience than over touristy Verona, for example. Many museums and sites of interest, laid back vibe at night , lots of restaurants with great variety of cuisines, mainly "locals" from suburbs or the old town, chilling in a very pleasant atmosphere, amazing historical buildings and Italian charm. Has all the architecture of "typical" Italy, but without the crowds.Guest review byMichaelUnited Kingdom - 8.0

Bellagio is a beautiful place, though it can be quite busy and crowded. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by an unpleasant encounter with a policewoman who was not friendly at all. We had just arrived and accidentally parked in a residential parking area. Despite our attempt to explain the mistake and our immediate departure, she issued us a ticket. On top of our already tight schedule, we then had to spend time figuring out how and where to pay the fine.Guest review byR YRCanada - 10.0

Beautiful countryside and perfect for walking or cycling in the hillsides around the village, plus some really nice restaurants open late into the evening filled with people who all appeared to be having a good time. Also great to be able to do some duty free shopping.Guest review byBruceUnited Kingdom
