It's a very good ski area, modern, well maintained, slopes well groomed. The resort itself is quite upmarket, the shops and restaurants were relatively expensive compared to other Italian resorts. Our restaurant experiences were not especially good in the town. Up the mountain, although the catering was good value, the quality of the food was not great, although better and a lot cheaper than you might find in France up the mountain. The resort is in the Dolomites, although not on the Sella Ronda, and the scenery is breath-taking. Good ski resort - wide selection of ski slopes, bars and restaurants. Only in the morning, the lift/cabins were overcrowded, since everyone wants to get up from the train, busses, cars and accommodations situated in Marilleva 900 and Folgarida. But one can survive it :-). During the day, skiers were greatly distributed across the resort, so waiting times are not as long. Madonna di Campiglio is an absolute delight! Beyond its charming boutiques, fantastic delicatessens, and excellent selection of supermarkets and restaurants, the skiing is simply outstanding. The resort offers a huge variety of runs for all skill levels, from gentle slopes to challenging black runs, all set against breathtaking mountain scenery. The lift system is modern and efficient, with plenty of gondolas and chairlifts making it easy to explore the vast ski area. A very nice place to go too. I went to a waterfall park, you had to pay for entrance, but you can enjoy yourself all day here. And this was the only place in the surrounding I went to. Very nice for skiing holidays, beautiful and numerous slopes, many lifts, not very busy even during the high season (we visited at the end of January to first days of February). Also appreciated numerous cafes and restaurants spread around the resort, so you could always get some rest and food/drink without too much stress or long waiting. From Marilleva you could easily access neighboring Folgarida area and very large Madonna di Campiglio area. Marilleva itself is probably most suited for intermediate and experienced skiers, as the main slopes leading down to the village are quite strenuous Red ones. However, less experienced skiers could use the gondola lift to come to the midpoint where there is a couple of easy Blue runs and then on to Mt Viggo, from which there is also one nice and scenic Blue run. Small town with lots of shops/restaurants/bars/groceries/ski lift walking distance (Doss de Sabion) New lift and new facilities up there. Views are spectacular from every angle. I would stay away during tourist season since it can get very crowded in the Piazza and grocery store etc. Locals are very nice and helpful. Wow just wow, I've never seen anywhere that any responsible person can come to receive you & help you to find your apartment & parking. Yes, it happens to us when we were just arrived & looking for the appartament when suddenly Mr. Riccardo came in his car and asked us to follow him after introducing himself up to the parking. After showing up the parking he showed us the apartment which is really marvelous. Sun rise & sun set views are beautiful which are visible from outside of the apartments.
