- From US$53.88 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.6Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 1,019 reviewsOur stay at St. John Hotel Madaba was consistently pleasant and well-organized. The hotel’s location is highly practical, situated within a short walk (about 3 minutes) to St. George’s Church and the Madaba Archaeological Park, making it ideal for exploring the town’s historical sites. The rooms are clean and functional, with comfortable beds and modern amenities like reliable Wi-Fi and a well-maintained bathroom. We appreciated the quiet atmosphere, which allowed for restful nights after daytime excursions. Staff members were professional and attentive without being intrusive. The front desk provided clear maps and straightforward advice for visiting nearby attractions, and housekeeping kept the room spotless daily. At the rooftop restaurant, the breakfast buffet offered a good variety of local and international options, including fresh bread, eggs, and Jordanian specialties like labneh and olives. Dinner dishes were flavorful and reasonably priced, with the grilled chicken and vegetable mezze being highlights. The hotel owner also a very gentlemanly, enthusiastic, creative person who has a passion for art. I'm really grateful for the hospitality, highly recommend this hotel if you visit MadabaGuest review byLUChina

I wish we could have stayed longer if it weren't for the airlines throwing a wrench in our itinerary. You can thank Air France for that. Salome Hotel is in the midst of building a pool which will be ready in a month! I highly recommend this hotel for couples.Guest review byLynleCanada

Madaba is world famous for its ancient mosaics and its modern day mosaic school and workshops. If you want to see a mosaic, go to Madaba. Furthermore there are some very good and well priced restaurants.Guest review byTimothyUnited Kingdom - 8.0
The Mujib is for people who want to wind down and go slow.
The Mujib is for people who want to wind down and go slow. The place needs some attention and could use a coat of paint and some general maintenance. The staff are very nice, but why are there no women working there? Overall we would recommend Mujib Chalets. The site is so beautiful and the Dead Sea so weird that there is no place like it.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

The tourist part with St John the Baptist church, visitor centre, museum and burnt palace etc is easy to explore and plenty of eateries too. Shop keepers are helpful and don't hassle you much. Easy to take a taxi to Mount Nebo, and I also enjoyed Bethany beyond the Jordan (where John the Baptist did his work), which takes a bit longer as you get bussed from the visitor reception to the river. It was amazing to look across the river to Israel where someone was being baptised. The Dead Sea and Hot Springs are also within reach, but not sure how it works with all the 4star hotels along the edge. Yellow taxis plentiful. If it's cold in Madaba (I was there in early March and they had a cold spell) the good news is its warm at the Dead Sea and the hot springs are wonderfully warm.Guest review byLesleyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

We almost skipped Madaba as we wanted to spend more time in Petra and Wadi Rum but were so glad we went and could have spent more time. Besides the incredible mosaics, there are Roman ruins and underground spaces that were fun to explore plus this had some of the best shopping we saw and we regretted not having more time to browse. With its Byzantine history Madaba feels different than the other cities in Jordan and is well worth the visit.Guest review byAprilUnited States
