Assabu Uzura Onsen Shiki no Yado is a hidden gem worth discovering. Nestled in the tranquil town of Assabu, this traditional Japanese inn offers a serene atmosphere, perfect for unwinding and reconnecting with nature. The onsen facilities are the highlight—featuring a relaxing hot spring bath, sauna, and hot tub. After a long day of exploring, soaking in the mineral-rich waters with views of the surrounding countryside is pure bliss. The rooms are clean and comfortable, with a mix of Western and Japanese styles, including tatami flooring and futon bedding. Breakfast is a steal. The on-site restaurant serves authentic Japanese cuisine, with a focus on seasonal ingredients. Breakfast is typically a traditional Asian-style set, and dinner features local specialties. Guests have praised the freshness and presentation of the meals, which reflect the flavors of rural Hokkaido. While Assabu is a quiet town, there are a few charming local spots nearby that we visited Assabu Shinrin Tenjikan – A small forest museum showcasing the region’s natural history. Gallery Somabito – A quaint shop featuring local crafts and souvenirs. Assabu Kyodo Shiryokan – A local history museum that gives insight into the town’s cultural roots.
