- From US$170.27 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 104 reviewsStayed here for 6 nights for a ski holiday and we had to change room half way through as I booked late and they were fully booked. Lovely staff they moved our stuff to the new room which meant we could go out for the day to enjoy skiing. Location isn't in the centre of town which wasn't a problem. There is a shuttle bus to the ski resorts, if you don't have a car. We did have a car which made it really easy. Onsen was lovely after a full day's of skiing. There was a ski rental shop opposite the hotel which was convent. We had breakfast and dinner included one of the waitresses called June was super friendly and very welcoming. Was a joy to see her everyday.Guest review byJessicaHong Kong
- From US$156.65 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.3Very good - What previous guests thought, 105 reviewsIt’s clean, very well equipped with heater, cooking utensils. The owners are so nice and friendly. Language may be a barrier but they tried really hard to accommodate all our needs. The place is slightly secluded which is perfect for quiet vacation but you can still go to town centre by just taking 1 train to Karuizawa station and the owners are nice enough to drop and pick you!Guest review byShereenMalaysia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 819 reviewsCozy and cool hotel with a green vibe. It's simplistic without a lot of extras and excess which we appreciate in the world of hotels. We enjoyed our stay very much, especially the staff and service was great. We forgot something in our room and the staff was very helpful and sent our package to our next hotel. Great service!Guest review byLisa KimuraDenmark
- From US$82.55 per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.1Very good - What previous guests thought, 909 reviewsStaff were great, room was larger than average in Japan, but the best part was the onsen Huge bathhouse opened overnight until 10am so you can access it in the evening, at the dead of night or after you wake up. Feel free to grab a popsicle (night) or a yakult (morning) after your bath as it is complimentary.Guest review bySui Man LeungHong Kong
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 7.5Good - What previous guests thought, 40 reviewsFor a single room it was fairly spacious compared to other single rooms I've had before. The whole bathroom is higher which is a little weird but not a problem, maybe if you're elderly this would be an issue, otherwise the room was fine, comfy bed.Guest review byKellyAustralia
- Scored out of 10, guest rating 6.8Pleasant - What previous guests thought, 148 reviewsOrdered extra breakfast, Fuji from the restaurant window was amazing. It was very close and majestic, unlike the view from the shore of Lake Kawaguchi. I recommend the breakfast included.Guest review byyukioJapan

Ropeway and boat trip was good.
Ropeway and boat trip was good. We hired bikes from Jays as they shut later than the others and went to the Chureito Pagoda, Fujisan World Heritage Center, and then cycled round the lake stopping at Kawaguchiko Music Forest Museum, Oishi Park and Yamanashi Gem Museum.Guest review byBerthaUnited Kingdom - 8.0

We really liked Matsumoto and it was a much more fun and interesting city than we expected. We had an overnight stay, largely to visit the famous castle, after visiting Kiso valley. Would happily have stayed longer.Guest review byrebeccaCanada - 8.0

I've been extremely lucky, I was in Niigata after a snowstorm and I found an amazing scenery of beaches under a white carpet. The fisherman market is an experience you should not miss, delicious food and crazy cheap bill. Try to drive the coastline!Guest review byMastershifuChina - 10.0

Absolutely loved Nagano, so friendly and clean and easy to get around. We lucked out and arrived when the the dance festival was on which was really fun. There are lovely restaurants, good shopping and it’s easy to get around. The old part of the town and the temple are beautiful. We took the bus to see the snow monkeys as well which was worth every penny, even though it was 30 degrees they were still in the onsen, it was magical!Guest review byPippaUnited Kingdom - 10.0
I recommend staying.
I recommend staying. I wrote a long review separately which I hope is useful; please refer to that. In addition, for young children, you can visit the sheep shed where they keep the sheep to see sheep up close, wander down and the up the hill behind reception, and get the best tasting soft serve ever from the restaurant!Guest review byDavinosJapan - 10.0

Karuizawa is a little gem "off the beaten track" for mist travelers to Japan. A tourist loop bus makes it easy to explore. There are coffee shops, restaurants, shops, & onsens. Excellent hiking too! And for those who like to shop, there's a huge outlet mall right next to the train station.Guest review byMichaelUnited States - 10.0

Lake Yamanaka is such a pretty place - Mt. Fuji never showed her face during our stay for the icon lake photos but it didn’t take away from the magic. The little town just 20 mins away by bus from our domes was super cute, filled with history, culture, and more shopping.Guest review byElizabethUnited States - 10.0

It’s a city with good weather, not too crowded, surrounded by mountains, and offers plenty of activities. There’s an AEON mall, and food is easy to find. It’s perfect for those who enjoy skiing and snow.Guest review byWicharThailand - 10.0

Fujikawaguchiko is nice and quiet place, but little bit boring. No nightlife, or great restaurants. Walking trails and roads overgroving with weeds. The town has lake, but no place to swim. City maitenance is poor. Connections with other places difficult. Public transport nonexistant. No hiking possibilities in the Japan Alps.Guest review byAnonymousEstonia
