Visiting Peace Park and all the sights related to the atomic bombing. And even catch a J-League match between V-Varen Nagasaki and Oita Trinity. Nagasaki Stadium City is amazing! Love the design of the stadium and the match-going experience!Guest review byKoonSingapore - 10.0

Really great seaside town with a large American influence due to the military base in town. The food was great and the night scene lovely as well, though I wish I had more time to visit the Bio Park - will plan to go next time! Haus Ten Bosch was a really unique experience and I'm glad I went!Guest review byAnnaUnited States - 10.0

There is a lot of culture and history to explore in Tsushima. I would definitely recommend hiring a car, so make sure you have your International Driving License before your trip! The public transport isn’t very easy to navigate and you would be able to experience so much more with a car.Guest review byHannah MayUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I think the most outstanding quality of this hotel was the service of the staff. They arranged for us to have a driver for an entire day to discover the island and its history. The driver was a local man who was very familiar with the interesting history of the island and answered all of our many questions. This is not to detract from an absolutely spectacular room with a window wall view of the ocean and the small islands in the distance. We had breakfast and dinner at the hotel and these meals were excellent.Guest review byJamesUnited States - 10.0
Nagasaki has a very interesting history.
Nagasaki has a very interesting history. It was the area in Japan that was the first to settle foreigners especially religious missionaries. Many churches and businesses were started there. I have lived in Tokyo for over 25 years, but seeing places outside of there such as Sapporo and Nagasaki among others gives a much wider view and impression of the country. Nagasaki is a must visit for anyone coming to experience Japan. It's really cool riding the many streetcars (trams) that run all over the city. There are many historical sites to visit which include ancient temples and the Atomic Bomb Museum. A can't miss museum is the site where the 26 martyrs were executed. They exhibit an actual letter written by St. Francis Xavier among others.Guest review byStephenJapan - 10.0

Sasebo is a good staging point for Catholic pilgrimage trips. We went to Hirado, Ikitsuki, and Kuroshima from here. The ferry options to the Goto Archipelago are limited here; Would try to go from Nagasaki if given the chance again. Sasebo is very westernized and their specialty dishes are steak and hamburgers. There are shopping arcades you can go and visit.Guest review byAndy PaulSingapore - 10.0
A great place to explore Japanese island life!
A great place to explore Japanese island life! Not only is the nature beautiful, but the people are very kind and helpful. To get the most out of a trip to Goto, I recommend traveling with only a few specific places to visit in mind and filling in the gaps with some natural exploration. The places I wanted to see were great, but it was the little surprising spots and locations along the way that became the most memorable.Guest review byMatthewJapan - 8.0

Small town with a lot of history. 1 full day was sufficient (2 nights). In the morning we visited the Atomic Bomb Museum and Peace Park area. After lunch we ventured out to the Glover House, which is really very nice. It gives a good overview of the history of Nagasaki and Japan in general. The art museum would have been a nice add-on, but there was an imense queue so we skipped.Guest review byIsabelleSouth Korea - 10.0

Sasebo is a hidden gem, perfect for those who enjoy a quieter lifestyle and want to avoid the crowds of more tourist-heavy destinations in Japan. With its laid-back vibe and scenic spots like Huis Ten Bosch, the Sea Aquarium, and the stunning Kujukushima (99 Islands), it offers a peaceful retreat without sacrificing things to see and do. The city also boasts delicious food, including Michelin-starred Champon at the train station and famous local burgers. Sasebo, as the base of the US Army, offers a unique mix of cultural and culinary experiences, making it a great choice for a slower-paced, yet rewarding, getaway. That said, I wish there were more quality hotels in Sasebo, as the available apartment and Airbnb options are quite limited and overpriced.Guest review bymaykincAustralia
