We did have one night when the guests upstairs were a bit noisy, but the hotel staff was incredibly helpful and resolved the issue immediately. Hakone is great.
Hakone is great. It is nice in the summer because it is probably 10-15 degrees cooler than the cities. You have lots to see. The Open Air Museum is fun and very worthwhile. The Tozan Mountain railway. The Mishima Skyway with views of Mt Fuji is closeby. and Lake Ashinoko very nice. It's a little more rural though touristy. Chiba is an amazing city and because Star Wars Celebration 2025 was held there this year, I had to come and visit. The city is only about an hour away from Tokyo and going there from Chiba was easy to do. We were attending a event in Kawasaki so that is why we stayed there. We didn't really do much sight-seeing in Kawasaki. We liked that the city was only a short train ride to many other cities like downtown Toyko and Yokohama. It might not be for everyone, have to take one stop to Ofuna to transfer to other JR lines but very convenient visiting Kamakura and Enoshima. Plenty of stores around Fujusawa station for shopping.
