The hotel is set in a romantic garden of coconut palms and has a clean swimming pool big enough to take a few swimming strokes and relax aching legs after a day exploring pagodas and archaeological remains. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, clean, as was the bathroom. The staff is very friendly and tries to ensure a pleasant stay for the guests. There is also a restaurant in the garden, which serves very good breakfast and dinner. We would definitely come back.

The most beautiful family of hosts that went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The rooms are brand new, very clean and tidy and well presented. The food menu was simple and the food incredibly tasty... and extremely good value! Organised a full day safari jeep at a fantastic rate for us. The hospitality can not be over-stated... absolutely beautiful family! Definitely recommend.

Staying in Wilpattu Wildhideaway was truly an unforgettable experience. The highlight of my stay was the delicious traditional dinner served at the hotel. Anta expertly crafted local dishes that provided a delightful taste of Sri Lankan cuisine, showcasing the rich flavors and spices of the region. Additionally, the hotel's Safari experience was amazing. Anta provided valuable insights into the flora and fauna, making the safari not just an exciting journey but also an educational one. We observed sloth bear, monkeys, a lot of peacocks, other birds and lizards and buffaloes. It was unforgettable!

Chaya is a wonderful hostess, who welcomed us to her home with extraordinary warmth. She made sure we are well-fed, our excursions are well-organised with very professional drivers for very reasonable prices. The house itself sits in a lovely tropical garden full of various wildlife, which was very interesting to watch. It is on the outskirts of the city, far from the noise, yet close and accessible to all the attractions. There is an outside kitchen, where all the meals are made and the cooking classes are done with an open fire and freshly grated coconuts. Definitely recommend for those who would like to get immersed in the authentic, local life, eat delicious home-made food and discover all the centuries old secrets that the city of Anaradhapura and its surroundings hold.

We had a very pleasant stay at Treasure House Tourist Rest. The accomodation had everything we Needed and the owners are so kind. They told us so much about Anaradhapura and it’s history. Established by King Pandukabhaya, it served as the majestic capital of Sri Lanka for over a millennium, playing a pivotal role in the island's Buddhist heritage and cultural evolution. The arrival of Buddhism in Sri Lanka, introduced by Mahinda Thera in the 3rd century BCE, marked a transformative era for Anuradhapura.     Amazing history of the city and its fantastic old and newer temples. Thoroughly enjoyed our Sri Lanka traditional cooking experience, a must do in Anuradhapura. Wildlife park was great with many different animals and birds, but didn’t seem to be large numbers of animals.

    Beautiful jungle surrounds. Lots of activities. Safari doesn't tell you about all the extra costs involved. Entry fee big. Tip for animal spotter. The Harabana lake cruise is brilliant. No motor just a gentle paddle, allowing you get up close to wildlife
